A computer-implemented method for optimizing input/output (I/O) operations per second (IOPS) of remote storage. The computer-implemented method includes receiving requests for read operations and write operations from users of an application, dynamically creating batches into which the requests can be aggregated, aggregating the requests into the batches and asynchronously passing each completed batch to the remote storage.

Optimizing input/output operations per section of remote persistent storage

An approach is provided in which a microservice fabric controller initiates a call flow that includes a set of transactions through a microservices chain that includes a set of microservices. The microservice fabric controller detects a transaction failure at one of the microservices that is positioned in the microservices chain subsequent to at least one successful microservice. In turn, the microservice fabric controller retries the transaction on the failed microservice without disrupting the previously successful microservice.

Achieving atomicity in a chain of microservices

A method and system for pre-attaching volumes onto a host. The method includes analyzing a plurality of hosts in a cloud environment. The method also includes identifying a least populated host based on the analyzation of the hosts. The least populated host is based on the attributes of the hosts. The method also includes identifying at least one popular volume in the cloud environment. The popular volume is a volume type most frequently used by the hosts in the cloud environment. Further, the method includes attaching the popular volume to the least populated host.

Cognitively managed storage volumes for container environments

An approach is provided in which an information handling system captures a set of performance metrics corresponding to a traffic flow through a set of microservices included in the service mesh. Next, the information handling system identifies one or more modifications to the traffic flow based on analyzing the set of performance metrics against a set of application requirements corresponding to the set of microservices. In turn, the information handling system adjusts a traffic routing policy of the service mesh based on the identified one or more modifications.

Manage a network of microservices

Block volume mount synchronization is provided. A call is received to mount a block volume upon initiation of container generation on the host computer. Metadata of the block volume is checked for host lock prior to mounting the block volume on the host computer. The mounting of the block volume is allowed only when the metadata indicates that prior host lock does not exist thereby restricting usage of the block volume to a single user preventing data corruption of the block volume.

Techniques are disclosed for configuring a physical computing system (e.g., in a cloud computing network) to connect a network bond with a virtual multilayer switch. An operating system process executing in the physical computing system receives a selection of one or more network interfaces. The process aggregates the selected network interfaces into a bonded network interface having a first port. The process creates a network bridge having a second port. The process associates the first port with the second port. The process connects the network bridge with an integration bridge of the virtual multilayer switch via the second port.
