A detection system tracks assets in a galley of an aircraft. A tracked tape node attached to an asset transmits, at a first interval, a beacon including a unique identifier (ID) of the tracked tape node. One of a plurality of tracking tape nodes, each positioned in a different one of a plurality of asset slots of the aircraft galley, activates a receiver for a first period to receive the beacons and stores the unique ID and a receive signal strength indication (RSSI) of the received beacon in a list ordered on the RSSI. The tracking tape node transmits, at a second interval, a tracking beacon including a tracking ID of the tracking tape node and the list. A mobile device receives the tracking beacons and generates a data structure of assets in the galley. The mobile device compares the data structure to a manifest and graphically indicates discrepancies.

Detection system, apparatus, user interface for aircraft galley assets and method thereof

A method includes instructing a first sensing device to enter a first state, the first state comprising a first set of functions and behavior for the sensing device. The first sensing device is instructed to aggregate sensing data, the sensing data comprising measurements of the property of the surroundings of the first sensing device measured by the at least one sensor. Relevant data from the aggregated sensing data is stored on one of a memory of the first sensing device, a database of a central database and control system associated with the first sensing device, and a memory of a client device. It is determined that a first event has occurred based on the aggregated sensing data, and responsive to the determining that the first event has occurred, the first sensing device is instructed to enter a second state.

The method may further include determining, based on comparing the level of fluid within the confined space to the predetermined level of fluid, that a fluid threshold is satisfied. The method may further include first intelligent node transmitting the sensor data to a wireless network in response to determining that the fluid threshold is satisfied.

A wireless tracking device and methods detect movement of a control of equipment, determines a setting of the equipment based on a sensed position of the control, and generates an alert when the control is moved unexpectedly. The wireless tracking device may include an adhesive surface that, in use, adheres the tracking device to the equipment, a sensor that senses a position of the control, a memory storing the position and a setting module having non-transitory computer-readable instructions, and a processor coupled to the sensor and the memory and configured to execute the setting module to analyze the position to determine the setting of the control. The wireless tracking device may implement a lockout/tagout protocol and may have many form factors including an adhesive tape, a belt, a single-use security tag, a cable lock, a padlock, a cable, a stamp and a valve sensor.

Apparatus and methods prepare an adhesive tape platform with a battery for disposal at an end of its useful life. The adhesive tape platform determines when it is at the end of its useful life and performs an action to drain remaining battery life of the battery. When remaining life in the battery is less than a threshold level, the adhesive tape platform transmits a ready for disposal notification to an Internet of Things (IOT) system of the adhesive tape platform. The adhesive tape platform may determine its life expectancy and operational phases of the adhesive tape platform and assign battery usage for each of the operational phases such that the battery is depleted at an end of a last one of the operational phases. The adhesive tape platform may activate battery draining circuitry to drain the remaining battery life of the battery.

A method and system for replacing a first wireless node in an IoT system includes determining, by the first wireless node, that the first wireless node needs imminent replacement. The determination may be made, for example, based on a battery of the first wireless node being below a threshold level. The first wireless node initiates a discovery protocol for a second wireless node installed in proximity to the first wireless node, the second wireless node installed to replace the first wireless node. Upon discovery of the second wireless node, the first wireless node transmits a configuration file to the second wireless node, which the second wireless node copies to a storage of the second wireless node. The second wireless node configures itself to operate as a replacement for the first wireless node in the IoT system, based at least in part on the copied configuration file.
