A cosmetic ink composition comprises a particulate material, a (meth)acrylic acid homopolymer or salt thereof, and a rheology modifier. The particulate material can have a Particle Size Distribution D50 of about 100 nm to about 2,000 nm. The (meth)acrylic acid homopolymer or salt thereof can have a weight average molecular weight of less than about 20,000 daltons. The rheology modifier can be selected from the group consisting of alkali swellable emulsion polymers, hydrophobically modified alkali swellable emulsion polymers, and combinations thereof. The cosmetic ink composition can have a first dynamic viscosity of greater than about 1,100 cP at a shear rate of 0.1 secmeasured at 25° C. and a second dynamic viscosity of less than about 100 cP at a shear rate of 1,000 secmeasured at 25° C.

Stable cosmetic ink composition

A cosmetic ink composition comprises a particulate material, a polymeric dispersant having a weight average molecular weight of less than about 20,000 daltons, and a polymeric rheology modifier. The particulate material can have a Particle Size Distribution D50 of about 100 nm to about 2,000 nm. The cosmetic ink composition can undergo controlled syneresis, forming a weak colloidal gel phase and a particle-lean, low viscosity phase, which can be printed without interventions such as agitation, mixing, or re-circulation to homogenize the composition.

Heterogenous cosmetic ink composition for inkjet printing applications

The magenta dye-based ink composition includes one or more red dye(s) and a minor but effective amount of black dye. Cosmetic ink composition comprising a surface tension modifier

The ink set includes at least two of a) a cyan ink that includes a cosmetically approved cyan dye; b) a magenta ink that includes a cosmetically approved magenta dye; and c) a yellow ink that includes a cosmetically approved yellow dye. Methods for ejecting fluids having a viscosity ranging from about 20 mPa-sec to about 100 mPa-sec at 22&#xb0; C. from a micro-fluid ejection head. The methods include the steps of applying a heat signal to the ejection head for a first period of time to heat the ejection head to a first temperature that is about 20&#xb0; C. above a steady state fluid ejection temperature for continuous or intermittent fluid ejection from the ejection head; and subsequently, applying a firing signal to ejection heaters on the ejection head during which fluid ejection from the ejection head occurs.

Aqueous dye inks with polymeric dispersant

An ink composition, a printer and a method for ejecting and aqueous fluid having a viscosity above about 1 Pa-sec at 25&#xb0; C. from a fluid ejection head. The ink composition, printer and method include an aqueous fluid that contains an aqueous carrier component, solid particles ranging from about 8 wt. % to about 25 wt. % based on a total weight of the aqueous fluid, and a rheology modifier. A heater pulse signal applied to ejection heaters on a fluid ejection head for a period of time is sufficient to sputter fluid from fluid ejection nozzles associated with the ejection heaters and to shear the fluid thereby reducing the viscosity of the fluid from above about 1 Pa-sec to less than about 0.1 Pa-sec. A firing signal subsequently applied to the ejection heaters on the ejection head provides steady state fluid ejection from the ejection head.

Aqueous ink for ink-jet heads

An ink composition is disclosed that includes: at least one color dye in an amount between and including 1% by weight and 7% by weight; at least one polymeric dispersant in an amount between and including 0.1% by weight and 1% by weight; at least one organic solvent in an amount between and including 18% by weight and 22% by weight; at least one surfactant in an amount between and including 0.5% by weight and 1.5% by weight; at least one buffer in an amount between and including 0.1% by weight and 0.5% by weight; at least one biocide in an amount between and including 0.05% by weight and 0.2% by weight; and the balance being deionized water.

A system for identifying a prescribed inkjet ink includes a controlled substrate, a quantity of ink dispensed from a printhead of an ink cartridge onto the controlled substrate which supports the dispensed ink in a freestanding form, a light emitter configured and positioned to transmit light in a first preselected wavelength bandwidth onto the freestanding dispensed ink, a light sensor configured and positioned to detect light m a second preselected wavelength bandwidth different from the first preselected wavelength bandwidth by a fluorescent additive contained in the freestanding dispensed ink, and a signal analyzer electrically connected to the light sensor and operable to produce an electrical output signal corresponding to such light emissions such that an electrical output signal above a given level is indicative of the presence of the prescribed ink in the ink cartridge.

System and method for identifying a prescribed inkjet ink

A printhead auto-alignment detection system includes a UV LED configured and positioned to transmit light in ultraviolet wavelengths onto a printed printhead alignment pattern formed using an aqueous ink having a UV fluorescing material. A sensor is configured and positioned to detect light in visible wavelengths emitted by the fluorescing material. A controller is communicatively coupled to the UV LED and the sensor. The controller is configured to execute program instructions for controlling the output of the UV LED and for reading a signal output of the sensor during a printhead alignment operation.
