An artery can be occluded by implanting an occlusion implant within a subintimal space within a wall of the artery. As an example, a catheter having a side port just proximal of an inflatable balloon disposed near a distal end of the catheter can be advanced through the artery to a site at which an occlusion is desired. The inflatable balloon can be inflated and a guidewire can be advanced through a lumen of the catheter, out of the side port and into a subintimal space of the artery, with the inflated inflatable balloon guiding the guidewire towards the artery wall. An occlusion implant can be advanced over the guidewire into the subintimal space and the guidewire can be withdrawn, leaving the occlusion implant positioned within the subintimal space.

A balloon for renal nerve modulation is disclosed. The balloon may include a polymer material forming a balloon wall having an outer surface and flexible circuits comprising a base selectively adhered to the exterior surface of the balloon wall. Adhesive is selectively applied to the outer surface of the balloon, to the flexible circuit or to both such that the adhesive is selectively deposited on the at least a portion of the at least two pads or on the at least a portion of the at least two pads and to a portion of the distal spline. The portion of the at least two pads or the portion of the at least two pads and a portion of the distal spline are adhered to the outer surface of the balloon and a remainder of the flexible circuit moves freely with respect to the outer surface of the balloon.

Embodiments of a deployment system may include a catheter having a distal end and a proximal end. An actuator may be disposed at the distal end of the catheter and may be operatively connected to electrical connectors extending longitudinally along the catheter from the proximal end to the actuator. The electrical connectors may be configured for transmission of signals to the actuator. One or more connections may be coupled to the actuator and to a deployable medical device disposed at the distal end of the catheter.

Example medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device includes an elongate member having a proximal end region, a distal end region and an outer surface. The medical device also includes a plurality of filaments braided together in a first braided pattern along a first braided region of the elongate member, wherein the plurality of filaments extend continuously to a second braided region along the elongate member, wherein the plurality of filaments along the second braided region form a second braided pattern different from the first braided pattern.

The present disclosure relates generally to devices, systems, and methods for coil embolization, and, more particularly, to use and methods of forming coated coils. In an aspect, an embolic system may include a coil having a proximal end, a distal end, and a length therebetween slidingly disposed within a sheath. A coating may be disposed about the coil. A delivery filament may be configured to be slidingly disposed within the sheath proximal of the coil such that the coil can be ejected from the distal end of the sheath into the working lumen of a microcatheter. The coating may be configured to substantially fracture as the coil transitions from being substantially aligned with a longitudinal axis of the microcatheter to substantially misaligned with the longitudinal axis of the microcatheter upon being ejected from the microcatheter. The coating may be configured to plasticize after being ejected into an aqueous environment.

Devices, systems, and methods for a coated coil

Embolic material delivery devices and methods of using them are disclosed. An example embolic material delivery assembly includes an outer member having a lumen extending therein and a distal end region, an inner member disposed within the lumen of the outer member, wherein the inner member includes a first lumen extending therein. The embolic material delivery assembly also includes a first embolic material extending within the first lumen of the inner member, the embolic material having a first distal end region. The embolic material delivery assembly also includes an anchor disposed within the lumen of the outer member, the anchor having a first attachment region. Further, the first distal end region of the first embolic material is coupled to the first attachment region of the anchor.

A drainage catheter may include a polymeric tubular member and a braided reinforcement that is disposed about the polymeric tubular member. The braided reinforcement may include a repeating braid pattern that extends over a first portion of a length of the drainage catheter and a modified braid pattern that extends over a second portion of the length of the drainage catheter, the modified braid pattern providing a region without any braid filaments. The drainage catheter may include a drainage hole that extends through the polymeric tubular member within the region without any braid filaments.

Medical devices, medical device systems, and methods for using the same are disclosed. An example medical device system may include a guide catheter having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending therebetween. The guide catheter may be designed to guide a therapeutic catheter to a target site. A guidewire may be disposed within the lumen of the guide catheter. The system may also include a trap balloon catheter including a catheter shaft and a balloon coupled to the catheter shaft. The trap balloon catheter may be designed to extend through the lumen of the guide catheter to a position adjacent to the distal end of the guide catheter. A trap balloon retainer may be coupled to the catheter shaft. The trap balloon retainer may be designed to prevent a distal end of the trap balloon catheter from extending distally beyond the distal end of the guide catheter.

A hub assembly for connection to a medical device. The hub assembly may comprises an outer component having a proximal end, a distal end, and a cavity extending from the proximal end to the distal end. The hub assembly may further include an insert having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal end positioned at least in part within the cavity of the outer component. The insert may have a lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal end thereof. The outer component may be formed from a first material and the insert may be formed from a second material different from the first material.

A hub assembly for connection to a medical device having a built in strain relief. The hub assembly may comprise a hub body having a proximal end and a distal end. A lumen may extend from the proximal end to the distal end of the hub body. The distal end of the hub body may have a rounded surface. The rounded surface may have a radius of curvature of greater than 1 millimeter.

A balloon catheter including a dedicated contrast fluid lumen is disclosed. The contrast fluid lumen extends through the catheter shaft to a contrast fluid delivery port located proximate the inflatable balloon and is configured to deliver contrast fluid to a target location. The catheter shaft includes a joint located proximate the contrast fluid port formed between a distal end of a proximal outer tubular member, a distal end of an inner tubular member and a proximal end of a distal outer tubular member. A guidewire tube, defining a guidewire lumen, may extend through the lumen of the proximal and distal outer tubular members.

An integrated crossing balloon catheter. The catheter includes a hub assembly secured to the proximal end of the catheter shaft, an inflatable balloon secured to the distal end of the catheter shaft, and a stiffening tube positioned over the inflatable balloon and a distal end portion of the catheter shaft. The stiffening tube is configured to be advanced through a vasculature with the catheter shaft as a unit. The stiffening tube is translatable along the catheter shaft from a first position in which the inflatable balloon is within the stiffening tube to a second position in which the inflatable balloon is exposed from the stiffening tube.
