A method and system for creating a record and associating a unique identifier and a hierarchy code with the record where the record is created in response to identifying that a transmission violates an institution's policy. The record may also be passed to a reporting module which may generate a report based on the unique identifier and/or a hierarchy code. Additionally, the record may be passed to a remediation agent for handling. The remediation agent may also update the record based on actions taken by the remediation agent or updates identified by the remediation agent.

Associating a unique identifier and a hierarchy code with a record

A system, method and apparatus for associating data is presented. An association system generally includes a vulnerability information system, user identification system and association tool. The vulnerability information system performs a scan of client devices to identify vulnerable devices. The vulnerability information is transmitted to the association tool where it is cross referenced with user identification information received from the user identification system. The association tool identifies the user associated with the vulnerable devices and this information may be stored to generate historical trend information. In addition, the information may be displayed graphically or may be used to generate reports and identify metrics that can be monitored in order to improve reliability, efficiency and the like.

Automated information association and reporting

A control automation tool ('CAT') is configured for supporting discrete management of controls and their corresponding metrics. The control automation tool includes a software application connected with, stored on, and executed by one or more relational, closed-loop data repositories and computer systems. The use and maturation of a control within an organization depends on management of operational performance and expenses, which the CAT assists through lean project management, effective implementation of action plans and financial functions. Further, people resources, organizational hierarchy and access management functions are used to support mapping of controls arranged by organizational unit and support access permissions that are consistent with appropriate data management. The CAT also provides transparency and meaning to control and metric status and relevant data regarding controls and their associated metrics and is configured for ease of control and metric management via the CAT interface.

Control automation tool

A method for automated risk management may include presenting a rule request graphical user interface (GUI) for a requester to enter information related to a rule request for a rule. The method may also include determining a risk rating score for the rule based on information entered in the rule request GUI. The information may include at least one of source information, destination information, service information and port information.
