An antenna device comprises a base plate, a first radiator, a first balun and a second radiator. The base plate has a substantially planar shape. The first radiator is configured to radiate a first electromagnetic signal in a first frequency band. The first balun extends along a first axis between the base plate and the first radiator. The first axis is oriented perpendicular to the base plate and the first radiator. The first balun is arranged in order to support the first radiator. The second radiator is configured to radiate a second electromagnetic signal in a second frequency band. The second radiator includes one or more planar structures extending along the first axis and arranged between the base plate and the first radiator. The first and second radiators operate in different frequency bands without any interference to form a compact multiband antenna device.

Antenna device, array of antenna devices, and base station with antenna device

An antenna element includes a reflector plate and a radiator comprising a balun device and a dipole device for operating in a first frequency band. The dipole device is connected to the reflector plate by the balun device. A distance from the dipole device to the reflector plate is more than &#xbc; of a wavelength at a central frequency of the first frequency band. The balun device comprises a short-circuit at a distance from the dipole device of 15 to 35 percent of said wavelength.

Sub-reflector and feeding device for a dipole

A dual band antenna element suitable for use in a compact multiband antenna array is described. The dual band antenna element may have a main radiating direction with a first radiating element for use in a first frequency band, a first electrically closed ring for use in the first frequency band galvanically isolated from and arranged at a predetermined distance from the first radiating element in the main radiating direction. The first ring) may at least partially overlap the first radiating element in the main radiating direction. The dual band antenna element may also have a second radiating element for use in a second frequency band, where the second radiating element is arranged within a circumference of the first radiating element and is arranged substantially at the predetermined distance (D) from the first radiating element in the radiation direction.

Ultra compact radiating element

A dual band antenna element comprises a support structure being a single molded part; a first feeding circuit and a second feeding circuit both arranged on the support structure; and a first radiating element arranged on the support structure and configured to radiate in a first operating frequency band. The first radiating element is fed by the first feeding circuit. Furthermore, a second radiating element is arranged on the support structure and configured to radiate in a second operating frequency band that is lower than the first operating frequency band. The second radiating element is fed by the second feeding circuit.

Dual-band antenna element and base station

A dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) array having an array feeding network and a parasitic patch array made up of individual antenna elements is provided with a dielectric lens made from a single piece of dielectric material in the form of a generally planar sheet. The sheet may be substantially coextensive with the DRA array so as to cover all of the antenna elements. The single piece of dielectric material has a plurality of dielectric portions defined by a plurality of holes through the sheet. Each dielectric portion may be positioned over one of the antenna elements. Adjacent dielectric portions are connected to each other along connecting edge portions thereof, and a single hole is defined through the sheet between connecting edge portions of a group of mutually adjacent dielectric portions.

Dielectric resonator antenna arrays

Embodiments are provided for an antenna element design with high aperture efficiency and stable gain across a frequency range. In an embodiment, the antenna element is obtained by placing a conductive layer on a dielectric substrate, forming a slot in the conductive layer, and forming two feed lines inside the dielectric substrate. A dielectric layer is placed on the dielectric substrate and over the conductive layer and the slot. A circular or elliptical conductive wall is formed inside the dielectric layer. A conductive element is also formed on the dielectric layer and over the slot. One or more second dielectric layers are placed on the dielectric layer and over the conductive element. A second circular or elliptical conductive wall is formed inside each second dielectric layer. A second conductive element is also formed on each second dielectric layer, over the conductive element.
