The present invention is a method, system and apparatus for dynamically binding principal services to activities in a business process in a cross-enterprise business process management system. In a preferred aspect of the invention, the system can include a business process specification document processing engine configured to process business process specification documents in which each of the documents defines a business process. A deployment service can be coupled to the engine and programmed to generate and deploy partner link instances for corresponding partner links specified in the documents. Finally, a link base authority can be configured to notify each partner link instance when an endpoint reference to a principal service has changed. Notably, the business process specification documents can include BPEL documents. As such, the business process specification document processing engine can include a BPEL4WS run-time engine.

Dynamic binding of principal services in a cross-enterprise business process management system

A method, system and apparatus for interleaving XForms with JSF request processing can be provided. The system can include an XForms definition generated for a form configured for rendering in a Web application. Specifically, the XForms definition can specify a data model for data to be processed within the form. The system further can include a JSF code generation module programmed to process the forms model to produce a form bean, a faces configuration, and a JSF page for each navigable view defined in the XForms definition.

Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to templated application deployment, and provide a novel and non-obvious method, system and computer program product for dynamically updating templated applications. In one embodiment of the invention, a templated application deployment data processing system can include an application container configured to host templated application instances defined by one or more templates. The system also can include application deployment logic including program code enabled to deploy the templated application instances into the application container responsive to the templates. Finally, the system can include a listener architecture coupled to the application deployment logic and configured to notify the application deployment logic of changes to the templates for the application instances.

Dynamically updating templated applications

Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to templated application deployment and provide a novel and non-obvious method, system and computer program product for the uniform specification of the creation and management of an application template. In one embodiment, a method for creating and managing application templates utilizing assets can be provided. The method can include grouping templated application components as assets described by a profile, building a manifest for the grouped assets, and packaging the grouped assets and the manifest in an archive. In this regard, grouping templated application components as assets described by a profile, can include grouping templated application components as Reusable Asset Specification (RAS) assets described by an RAS profile.

A method of data storage and retrieval using a relational database can include defining a first table in a relational database including a plurality of entries having a first value for a first field. A second table in the relational database including a plurality of entries can be defined. Each of the plurality of entries in the second table can specify an additional value for the first field of a corresponding entry in the first table. Responsive to a query, a data item selected from at least one of the plurality of entries in the first table can be presented.

Hybrid relational, directory, and content query facility

Methods, systems, and computer program products are disclosed for dynamically integrating software resources (such as web services and other back-end software resources) using the services of a content framework (such as a portal platform). A portlet model is leveraged to allow programmatic portlets to serve as proxies for web services, thereby extending portlets beyond their traditional visual role. A deployment interface and a system interface are described for these portlet proxies. The deployment interface is used for composing new web services, and a composition tool is described. The system interface allows for run-time management of the web services by the portal platform. The service provider for a particular function may be bound to the portlet proxy at development time or at run-time.

Programmatic management of software resources in a content framework environment

A method is presented in which federated domains interact within a federated environment. Domains within a federation can initiate federated single-sign-on operations for a user at other federated domains. A point-of-contact server within a domain relies upon a trust proxy within the domain to manage trust relationships between the domain and the federation. Trust proxies interpret assertions from other federated domains as necessary. Trust proxies may have a trust relationship with one or more trust brokers, and a trust proxy may rely upon a trust broker for assistance in interpreting assertions.

Method and system for authentication in a heterogeneous federated environment

A self-governing, self-healing and self-optimizing policy oriented grid architecture. The architecture can include a hosting service configured for use in a computing grid. The hosting service can include a Web service; grid instrumentation coupled to the Web service; a Web service descriptive document; and, a service policy element disposed in the Web service descriptive document. The Web service descriptive document can include a WSDL type document. Moreover, at least one WSLA can be referenced in the WSDL type document. Notably, the service policy element can include at least one policy selected from the group consisting of a security assertion and a business rule. The security assertion can include a security assertion markup language (SAML) formatted authentication statement having a subject specifying a role identifier.

Policy enabled grid architecture

Techniques are disclosed for achieving context-sensitive confidentiality within a federated environment for which content is aggregated in a distributed Web portal (or similar aggregation framework), ensuring that message portions that should be confidential are confidential to all entities in the federated environment except those entities to which the message portions may properly be divulged. The federation may comprise an arbitrary number of autonomous security domains, and these security domains may have independent trust models and authentication services. Using the disclosed techniques, messages can be routed securely within a cross-domain federation (irrespective of routing paths), thereby ensuring that confidential information is not exposed to unintended third parties and that critical information is not tampered with while in transit between security domains. Preferred embodiments leverage Web services techniques and a number of industry standards.

Context-sensitive confidentiality within federated environments

A method, system and apparatus for federated identity brokering. In accordance with the present invention, a credential processing gateway can be disposed between one or more logical services and one or more service requesting clients in a computer communications network. Acting as a proxy and a trusted authority to the logical services, the credential processing gateway can map the credentials of the service requesting clients to the certification requirements of the logical services. In this way, the credential processing gateway can act as a federated identity broker in providing identity certification services for a multitude of different service requesting clients without requiring the logical services to include a pre-configuration for specifically processing the credentials of particular service requesting clients.
