Disclosed in the present invention are a Machine Type Communication event reporting method, device and system. The method includes: a mobility management network element acquires identifier information of an MTC server corresponding to an MTC device from a user subscription server; the mobility management network element sends the identifier information to an MTC event reporting entity; and the MTC event reporting entity reports an MTC event of the MTC device to the MTC server corresponding to the identifier information. By way of the present invention, the MTC event report can be sent to a correct MTC server, so that the MTC server can effectively monitor the MTC device.

The present invention provides a method for a MTC group selecting a Packet Data Network Gateway (PGW) and a mobility management network element. After a MTC UE in the MTC group attaches for the first time, PGW information corresponding to the selected PGW is stored in a subscriber database; and when other MTC UEs in the MTC group attach, the PGW corresponding to the PGW information stored in the subscriber database is directly used as their own PGW. With the method of the present invention, it is guaranteed that the PGWs selected by multiple MTC UEs belonging to the same MTC group are the same PGW, thereby guaranteeing that the maximum flow and charging of each MTC group are effectively limited subsequently.

A policy application method for Machine Type Communication (MTC) and a Policy and Charging Enforcement Function (PCEF) are provided by the disclosure. The method comprises that in a course in which an MTC device attached to a PCEF establishes an Internet Protocol-Connectivity Access Network (IP-CAN) session, the PCEF locally obtains a group policy corresponding to a device group to which the MTC device belongs (S); the group policy is applied in the IP-CAN session (S). The technical solution of the disclosure reduces the time required by applying the MTC policy by the PCEF, saves network resources, and increases utilization of the network resources.
