A split-type sliding bearing for a crankshaft in an internal combustion engine incorporated in a split-type bearing housing. The sliding bearing consists of a pair of semi-cylindrical bearing bodies combined with each other to form a cylindrical body. The bearing housing has a cylindrical bearing retaining bore and consists of a pair of housing halves. One of the housing halves has a relatively lower stiffness, and the other has a relatively higher stiffness. One of the bearing bodies is held by the housing half having a relatively lower stiffness. The other bearing body is held by the housing half having a relatively higher stiffness. The bearing bodies have an equal outer diameter to each other, and both of the circumferential end parts of one bearing body have a larger thickness than those of the other bearing body prior to incorporation into the housing halves.

Split-type sliding bearing for crankshaft in internal combustion engine and split-type sliding bearing device

Disclosed is a crankshaft bearing for an internal combustion engine. At the inner periphery of the semicircular thrust bearing, two impact load receiving projections are projected besides the two tabs. Each of at least the two impact load receiving projections is between each of the two tabs and each of the circumferential end surfaces of the semicircular thrust bearing. The two impact load receiving projections are at line-symmetrical positions with each other with respect to the center line of the semicircular thrust bearing. A height of the impact load receiving projection is set at a dimension such that a top portion of the impact load receiving projection is not in contact with an outer circumferential surface of the semi-cylindrical sliding bearing in a static state in which the pair of semi-cylindrical sliding bearings is assembled into the bearing housing of the crankshaft and restrained.

A split-type sliding bearing for a crankshaft is formed of a pair of semi-cylindrical bearings halves which are fitted between a pair of housing halves having respectively high and low thermal expansion coefficients, one of the pair of bearing halves being supported on the housing half having a low thermal expansion coefficient, and the other of the pair of bearing halves being supported on the housing half having a high thermal expansion coefficient. The circumferential end zones of the bearing half supported on the housing half having a high thermal expansion coefficient have a thickness which is greater than that of the circumferential end zones of the bearing half supported on the housing half having a low thermal expansion coefficient.

A split-type sliding bearing for a crankshaft in an internal combustion engine is incorporated in a split-type bearing housing. The sliding bearing is formed of a first and a second semi-cylindrical bearing bodies combined to form a cylindrical body. The bearing housing has a cylindrical bearing retaining bore and is formed of a pair of housing halves. One of the housing halves has a lower stiffness, and the other has a higher stiffness. The first bearing body is held by the housing half having a lower stiffness. The second bearing body is held by the stiffer housing half. The first and second bearing bodies have equal outer diameters, and both of the circumferential end parts of the first bearing body have a larger thickness than those of the second bearing body prior to incorporation into the housing halves.

A connecting rod bearing for internal combustion engines of a forced-feed lubrication type crank shaft is provided, consisting semicircular bearings. An inner surface of the semicircular bearings is provided with a circumferential groove formed on the inner surface within a maximum circumferential angle range of 45 degrees, measured from one circumferential end facing the same direction as a rotational direction of the crankpin toward a circumferential center region of the semicircular bearing, each of the semicircular bearings having two circumferential ends which are of butt ends brought into contact with those of a mating semicircular bearing. In an assembled state, an axial groove is formed on an inner surface of the semicircular bearings so as to extend along the butt end throughout a full length between both axial ends of the semicircular bearing, whereby the axial groove, as a lubricant-oil flow channel, is connected with the circumferential groove.
