Embodiments relate generally to systems and methods for a low profile PID typically including a flexible substrate; two or more electrodes containing an array of holes; a spacer with one or more holes; and two or more contacts corresponding to the electrodes. Typically, the unfolded flexible substrate defines a plane, and the electrodes are disposed on the flexible substrate such that when the flexible substrate is folded, one electrode is located on a top plane and another electrode is located on a bottom plane and the spacer is disposed between the electrodes to form an ionization chamber for use with a UV radiation source.

An optical communication device is provided. The optical communication device includes at least one light source and a controller configured to continuously control, by a light source control signal, each of the at least one light source to operate in at least two modes. The at least two modes include a first mode and a second mode. The first mode is used to transfer a first information, and the second mode is used to transfer a second information different from the first information. For any one of the at least one light source, in the first mode, the light source control signal has a first frequency so that a stripe presents in a first image of the light source obtained when the light source is photographed by a CMOS image sensor, and in the second mode, a second image of the light source obtained when the light source is photographed by the CMOS image sensor is substantially free from any stripe.

Additional embodiments include a method of forming an ultraviolet lamp () for use with a photoionization detector, the method comprising applying at least one layer of a coating () onto an inner surface () of a sealed tube (); sealing a crystal window () onto the sealed tube (); filling the sealed tube () with at least one gas; sealing the sealed tube () containing the at least one gas; generating ultraviolet radiation using the at least one gas within the sealed tube (); and directing the generated ultraviolet radiation through the crystal window () toward a sample gas in the photoionization detector.

The present invention provides an explosion-proof miniaturized combustible gas sensor, comprising: a metal casing having an accommodation space therein; a wire mesh, a vertical surface perpendicular to a side surface where the wire mesh is located and the other side surface opposite thereto being used as a transfer surface of the combustible gas; a heat insulation module embedded in the metal casing; a detection module sensitive to a combustible gas; a compensation module insensitive to a combustible gas and matching the detection module; where the detection module has a higher catalytic combustion activity than the compensation module; a sealant, where a bonding length of the sealant in the accommodation space of the metal casing is used as an effective bonding surface, and the effective bonding surface is perpendicular to the transfer surface. The present invention has the advantages of a miniaturized size, good explosion-proof property and reliable performance.
