A system and method for creating a document containing secured personal identification information includes a database containing personal identification information; a classifier module for collecting and classifying the personal identification information; a memory module for storing the classified personal identification information; a password generator for associating a password combination with the classified personal identification information; a controller module for receiving and sending the classified personal identification information and the password combination to a processor; an encryptor in operative communication with the processor, for encrypting the classified personal identification information using the password combination; an encoder for converting the encrypted personal identification information into machine readable code; and a data recording system for creating a document containing secured personal identification information.

System and method for controlling access to personal identification information contained in documents

A method of dynamically controlling a perceived ink color printed on a substrate can include mixing selected amounts of each of a polystyrene nano-sphere dopant component and a nano-particle dopant component with a clear fluid carrier component, the mixed components configured in real time to define an ink structure having a predetermined wavelength. The method can further include imaging the substrate by ejecting the mixed components onto the substrate, the perceived color of the imaged substrate corresponding to a reflected wavelength of the ink structure. In embodiments, each of the carrier and dopant components can be in a powder form suitable for fuser type imaging devices.

A modulator in an imaging apparatus includes a metamaterial shell surrounding an opaque core. The metamaterial is tunable, so that the metamaterial acts as a waveguide for light at a given wavelength. This property of the metamaterial is used to modulate the light beam in an imaging apparatus. The light beam can be guided around the opaque core under a first voltage condition, or the light beam can be blocked by the opaque core under a second voltage condition.

A hierarchical architecture for a network printing system having a plurality of electronic printers and printing systems is provided. The hierarchical architecture decomposes each electronic printer and printing system's Digital Front End (DFE) and print engine into a hierarchical set of networked printer components communicating via a many-to-many network protocol. Print data is routed from component-to-component based on the receiving component's self-advertised function and availability. Adding duplicate printer components to the network environment scales or increases the reliability and performance of the network environment. A sufficiently large set of inexpensive printer components may be configured to achieve any desired level of reliability and performance through redundancy. Additionally, a network of DFE printer components (input and output spoolers, and RIP processors) can control multiple print engine components, improving the prior art 1:1 ratio between print engine components and DFE components.
