The present invention provides a core for an electric current detector in which a plurality of gaps can be formed while the paring of core pieces is maintained, and a method for manufacturing the same. A core for an electric current detectoraccording to the present invention includes: a pair of core piecesandthat are obtained by cutting an annular core main bodyin a radial direction at two positions and are arranged such that cross-sectional surfacesandare opposed to each other with a first gapand a second gapbeing interposed therebetween; and a first partial moldingand a second partial moldingthat are made of resin and cover portions of the peripheral surfaces of the cross-sectional surfaces of the core pieces opposed to each other with the first gap and the second gap being interposed therebetween. The first partial molding includes a bridge portionthat serves as a connection portion and spans the gap.

A core for an electric current detector comprises a pair of first and second core pieces (), (), wherein the first core piece has first opposed surfaces (), () and the second core piece has second opposed surfaces (), (), the first and second opposed surfaces face to each other with a spacing between a first gap () and a second gap (), respectively, and the first and second core pieces are covered by a resin-made first partial mold () on the area near and inclusive of the first gap and are covered by a resin-made second partial mold () on the area near and not inclusive of the second gap, wherein the second partial mold includes a second-1 molded member () on the first core piece side and a second-2 molded member () on the second core piece side.

The present invention provides a core member, a gapped core, and a current sensor in which the gap width of a core main body that is entirely or partially covered by a resin mold portion can be set as appropriate, and insulation between the core main body and a bus bar opening can be achieved.
