A line-head-type inkjet image-forming method includes ejecting a gel ink to a recording medium at a first coverage rate that is less than 100% and set to allow dots of newly ejected gel ink to unite with dots of the gel ink already landed on the recording medium. The gel ink contains a specific amount of a polymer dispersant based on the amount of the colorant and has a specific contact angle on the recording medium. The gel ink is ejected from nozzles so as to form dots with a diameter slightly larger according to the resolution of the image to be formed.

Inkjet image-forming method

Provided is a method for inkjet image formation using a line head and an activating light beam-curing type ink, characterized in that the duration from the time, from a first ink lands on a recording medium, to the time that the first ink or a second ink of the same color series as the first color lands on the recording medium, is 25 ms or longer; the ink includes a gelling agent in an amount of 0.5-3.0 mass % to the entire mass of the ink; and the complex viscosity of the ink at the temperature at which the ink lands on the recording medium is 50-300 Pa&#xb7;s. According to this method, even when an inkjet image is formed at high speed using ink that experiences a sol-gel phase transition, an image free from white spots and gloss differences in the overlap areas can be formed.

Image formation method

Disclosed is an ink-jet printer ejecting an ink comprising a cationic-polymerizable compound onto a recording medium, wherein the ink-jet printer comprises ink-contact members which constitute an ink tank retaining the ink and an ink jet supply passage of from the ink tank to a recording head ejecting the ink and the ink-contact members are each comprised of a material which does substantially not undergo electron transfer with the ink.
