Technologies are provided for a dynamically scalable storage architecture. A workload manager can be configured to monitor compute workloads targeting network-enabled storage devices. The workload manager can identify servers to perform all or part of the compute workloads. The workload management server can configure the identified servers to establish logical connections with the network-enabled storage devices, wherein the identified servers can transmit data access commands to the network-enabled storage devices via a computer network. The identified servers can then be used to perform all or part of the compute workloads targeting the network-enabled storage devices. In at least some embodiments, the workload manager can monitor a pool of available servers, from which servers can be identified and associated with network-enabled storage devices. In a different or further embodiment, the workload management server can instantiate new virtual servers and associate the virtual servers with network-enabled storage devices.

Networked storage architecture

A virtual server system includes multiple pools of server components connected via a high-speed communication fabric and a dynamic virtual server manager configured to determine attributes of a workload in multiple workload dimensions and configure a virtual server using server components of the server component pools. The selected server components implement a virtual server configured based on the determine workload attributes in the multiple workload dimensions. Also, the dynamic virtual server manager dynamically adjusts which server components are used to implement the virtual server based on changes in workload attributes.

Dynamically managed virtual server system

Provided are systems and methods for hardware attestation. Hardware attestation can ensure that only trusted hardware components are being used in a computing system. In various implementations, the computing system can include a hardware component coupled to the motherboard, where the hardware component is independent of the main processor of the computing system. The hardware component can determine whether a particular component connected to the motherboard includes an identification code, where the identification code can be used to attest to an identity of the particular component. The hardware component can further determining whether the identification code matches an expected value. The hardware component can further configure the particular component based on whether the identification code matches the expected value.

Computer hardware attestation

A facility monitoring system and/or a secure data storage device transport trolley accounts for data storage devices removed from rack computing devices while in transport. The secure data storage device transport trolley comprises a backplane, backplane connectors, and a computing device coupled to the backplane. The computing device scans for data storage devices connected to the connectors of the backplane at regular intervals and maintains an updated list of data storage devices being transported by the secure data storage device transport trolley. The secure data storage device transport trolley also provides the list to a facility monitoring system for reconciliation.
