Techniques are described herein for effectuating a transaction by an intermediary. An example method can include instructing a device to monitor a status of a first item, and to transmit a first request for a target item based at least in part on the status of the first item, the target item being a same item type as the first item. Receiving, by the from the device, the first request for the target item. Determining a first source device of a plurality of source devices to which to transmit a second request for the target item. Transmitting, to the first source device of the plurality of source devices, the second request for the target item based at least in part on the determination. Receiving a confirmation of the second request.

Distributed communication between devices

Techniques are described herein for effectuating a transaction by an intermediary. An example method can include receiving a first message from a second device, the first message comprising a request for a first item, wherein the first message is received by a backend process executing on the first device. A second message that includes a request for a first information associated with the first item, can be transmitted. A third message comprising the first information associated with the first item can be received. A fourth message comprising a request to initiate a transaction for the first item can be transmitted to a third device. A fifth message can be received from the third computing device, the fifth message comprising a confirmation of the transaction based at least in part on the fourth message.

A communication system may include an access point (AP), user equipment (UE) device, and reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS). The UE may control the RIS by transmitting control signals that configure antenna elements on the RIS. The RIS may reflect wireless signals between the UE and the AP. The RIS may be known to the network. The UE may transmit a report to the AP that includes information about the RIS. The UE may receive assistance information from the AP. The UE may control the RIS based at least in part on the assistance information. The UE may transmit measurement reports to the AP. The AP may update its signal beams based on the information about the RIS and the measurement reports. Providing the network with awareness of the RIS may serve to optimize the wireless performance of the UE device and/or the network.

Communication system with network-aware reconfigurable intelligent surfaces

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for enhancement of network slicing for a UE. A UE may receive, from an AMF of a network, application related information associated with network slice data routing for data associated with an application. The information may be provided to the network by network slice customers. The UE may, in response to application initiation, determine traffic routing for data associated with the application. Traffic routing may be based on the application related information and a UE configuration associated with user privacy (e.g., user privacy setting) associated with the application. When the user UE configuration is enabled, the data may be routed via a default network slice and when the UE configuration is disabled, the data may be routed via a network slice indicated by the application related information. The UE configuration may be indicated by the application via a Boolean flag and/or via a user interface setting.

Network slicing enhancements

Methods, systems, and storage media are provided for user equipment (UE) that supports enhanced coverage and may operate with a voice centric usage setting or a data centric usage setting. When the UE's usage setting is set to voice centric, the UE may not operate in coverage enhancement (CE) mode B. When the UE's usage setting is set to data centric, then the UE may operate in CE mode B. The UE may indicate the UE's usage setting in an Attach or Tracking Area Update (TAU) request message, and a mobility management entity (MME) may indicate to an evolved NodeB that CE mode B is restricted or not restricted based on the usage setting. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Handling of user equipment coverage enhancement mode B radio capability mismatch due to change in user equipment usage setting

Systems and methods of protecting an initial NAS message are described. Depending on whether a security context for a serving PLMN is stored, the UE uses either a public key from the serving PLMN or a key from the security context to encrypt parts of the initial NAS message. An initial NAS message containing the encrypted parts is then sent to an AMF of the serving PLMN. The serving PLMN public key is transmitted via a SIB. Prior to transmission of the initial NAS message or in parallel with it, an RRC message is sent to the base station. The RRC message contains the UE identifier and/or a NSSAI encrypted using the serving PLMN public key.

Protection of initial non-access stratum protocol message in 5G systems

Systems and methods of protecting an initial NAS message are described. The NAS message is encrypted using the home PLMN public key during initial registration with the network using a registration request message. An AMF of the serving PLMN sends a serving PLMN public key which is then used to encrypt information including an S-NSSAI of later initial NAS messages after initial registration is completed. The S-NSSAI may not be sent in the later initial NAS message if the S-NSSAI is provided at an access stratum level. The RRC message may contain an indication that the S-NSSAI is encrypted using the serving PLMN public key.

Systems, methods, and processors are provided for flexibly configuring network slices in device to device communication. In one example, a baseband processor for a relay user equipment (UE) is configured to cause the UE to receive a UE route selection policy (URSP) from a network. The URSP includes respective URSP rules for routing UE traffic through respective network slices to the network. A first URSP rule indicates whether an associated first network slice is designated for remote UE traffic, relay UE traffic, or both remote UE traffic and relay UE traffic. The baseband processor is configured to cause the UE to establish a device to device (D2D) connection with a remote UE to relay remote UE traffic from the remote UE to a base station and assign the remote UE traffic to at least one network slice based on the URSP.

Network slice configuration for device to device communication

A network device or component such as an access node (AN) can operate to provide a request to obtain a network slice of a network slice as a service (NSaaS) to provide a communication service on the network slice for an end-user device. In response to obtaining the network slice, a network slice customer (NSC) Service identity (ID) associated with the network slice can be determined and provided for a communication service for an application by the end-user device or user equipment (UE). The request can be processed at a network slice provider (NSP) component, in which the network slice can be assigned to the NSC in response to the request by the NSC. The NSP further provides a user equipment (UE) route selection policy (URSP) comprising a traffic descriptor that includes the NSC Service ID to the NSC.

Devices, methods, use user equipment (UE), core network devices, evolved node B (eNB), and storage media for UE provisioning are described. In one embodiment, processing circuitry of a mobility management entity (MME) decodes a non-access stratum (NAS) message comprising a detach request associated with a first user equipment (UE) and determines that the detach request is received from the UE without integrity protection. The MME then analyzes one or more additional criteria associated with the detach request in response to confirmation that the detach request message is received from the UE without the integrity protection, and manages an evolved packet system (EPS) mobility management (EMM) registration state for the first UE based on analysis of the one or more additional criteria. Various different criteria and associated EMM registration state management operations are described. Additional corresponding UE operations are also described.

UE and devices for detach handling

A user equipment (UE) can operate to configure an application service to a network slice instance while preserving an application identity (ID) privacy. The UE receives network slice customer (NSC) Service ID from an NSC. A UE route selection policy (URSP) from a network slice provider (NSP), or network operator, includes the NSC Service ID in a traffic descriptor that associates a single network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAI) with the NSC Service ID. The UE associates the application service to the network slice instance based on the NSC Service ID and the S-NSSAI.

A method for a re-authentication of user equipment (UE), by at least a portion of a core network (CN), for steering of roaming (SoR) data delivery, includes receiving, through next generation radio access network (NG-RAN) and/or 5G system (5GS), a subscriber data management (SDM) data request for a UE. The method includes determining that re-authentication of the UE be requested. The method includes encoding a response for transmission to the UE responsive to the SDM data request. Determining that re-authentication be requested can include determining that SoR data is being sent to the UE.

Embodiments of the present disclosure describe methods, apparatuses, and systems for management of voice services for user equipments (UEs) in coverage enhancement (CE) mode B. A cellular protocol stack (CPS) of the UE may indicate to an internet protocol (IP) multimedia services (IMS) circuitry of the UE that the UE is operating in the CE mode B (or will be operating in the CE mode B when it awakes from idle mode). The IMS circuitry may receive an SIP invite from an IMS server to invite the UE to engage in a mobile terminated (MT) call. In response to the SIP invite, the IMS circuitry of the UE may reject the SIP invite and deregister the UE from voice services. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Management of voice services for user equipments in coverage enhancement (CE) mode B

A user equipment (UE) explicitly accounts for a coverage enhancement (CE or sometimes called enhanced coverage) feature in a public land mobile network (PLMN) search and/or selection. By explicitly using CE indicators in PLMN search and/or selection, a UE can determine whether to use a PLMN that may only be available in CE mode for voice services or data services, or fail to meet criteria, such as high data rate, that cannot be provided in CE mode. For example a UE can use the PLMN search and/or selection with (1) automatic PLMN selection at switch-on or recovery from lack of coverage, (2) higher priority PLMN selection, (3) manual PLMN selection, and/or (4) limited service capabilities while in CE mode.
