Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may receive, from a second UE, a capability message indicating that the second UE is capable of processing one or more types of modulated waveforms. The first UE may encode a set of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols with a first set of data for an uplink transmission to a network entity via a communication link between the first UE and the network entity, and may modulate the set of encoded OFDM symbols with a second set of data for the second UE according to a type of the one or more types of modulated waveforms capable of being processed by the second UE. The first UE may transmit and the second UE may monitor for the modulated set of encoded OFDM symbols via the communication link.

Capability-based modulation of communications between wireless communication devices

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support dynamically adapting one or more operations performed by a user equipment (UE) based on a state of a communication network according to one or more aspects. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication, performed by a UE, includes receiving a search space (SS) configuration of an SS. The SS configuration includes, for each parameter of a plurality of parameters of the SS, an offset indicator associated with a network energy saving (NES) state of a plurality of NES states. Additionally, the method includes configuring one or more parameters of the plurality of parameters of the SS based on the SS configuration. Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration for common reference signal resources that are common across a first bandwidth part (BWP) and a second BWP within a component carrier. The UE may switch from the first BWP to the second BWP based at least in part on the configuration. The UE may transmit or measure, in the second BWP, reference signals that are in the common reference signal resources. Numerous other aspects are described.

Common reference signal resources for bandwidth part switching

A base station may associate multiple user equipment (UEs) with one or more UE groups and generate group common downlink control information (DCI) for each UE group for semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) cancellation, such that group common DCI may be transmitted to UEs of a respective UE group. The base station may associate each of UEs with a respective UE group, wherein the UEs are configured with SPS configurations by the base station, each SPS configuration configuring respective SPS occasions. The base station may further determine to cancel one or more SPS occasions associated with at least one of the SPS configurations, generate one or more group common DCI for the one or more UE groups to cancel the one or more SPS occasions, and transmit the one or more group common DCI to one or more UEs associated with the at least one of the SPS configurations.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Energy harvesting (EH)-capable devices may harvest energy from different sources, such as a radio frequency sources or environmental conditions such as solar energy. The consumed energy by the EH-capable device may be dependent on a task type and the properties of the EH-capable device. Processing of data symbols, demodulation reference signal symbols, and control symbols may involve different energy costs at the EH-capable device. An EH-capable device configured with multiple slot formats may report to the network the immediate energy status and capabilities of the EH-capable device and/or respective energy costs for the EH-capable device for each of the slot formats. The network may schedule communications involving the EH-capable device (e.g., sidelink communications, uplink communications, or downlink communications) based on the energy costs for the EH-capable device for the multiple slot formats and/or the energy status of the EH-capable device.

Slot formats and transmission types for energy harvesting-capable devices

Aspects presented herein may improve the accuracy of uplink-based positioning when at least one network entity participating in the uplink-based positioning is operating under an energy saving mode. In one aspect, a network entity receives information indicative of a set of antenna panel configurations for a plurality of network nodes, where the set of antenna panel configurations is associated with a set of energy saving modes. The network entity transmits an indication of one or more UL-SRS transmission parameters for a UE based on the information indicative of the set of antenna panel configurations for the plurality of network nodes. In some examples, each antenna panel configuration in the set of antenna panel configurations may include a number of antennas to be used in an UL azimuth angle measurement and a number of antennas to be used in an UL elevation angle measurement under one energy saving mode.

A user equipment (UE) may receive and decode multiple types of transport blocks. The UE may receive, via the transceiver, a downlink control information (DCI) that indicates at least first transmission parameters for a first type of transport block for the UE and second transmission parameters for a second type of transport block for rate-splitting with a second UE. The UE may receive, via the transceiver, the first type of transport block during a first physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) occasion based on the first transmission parameters. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may proactively provide assistive (e.g., redundant) information associated with a set of data messages transmitted via a set of periodic resources, which may reduce an amount of (or obviate the use of) retransmission indications from the network entity. For example, the UE and the network entity may support a first set of periodic resources for transmission of data messages and a second set of periodic resources for transmission of assistive information associated with the data messages. The second set of periodic resources may be a subset of the first set of periodic resources or may be different from the first set of periodic resources, and may be designated or indicated as assistive of the first set of periodic resources via control signaling or an activation downlink control information (DCI).

Assistive periodic resources for reliable and low-latency uplink communication

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may receive a control message indicating multiple power states, where each power state of the multiple power states may be associated with a configuration of the UE. Additionally, the UE may transition from a first power state of the multiple power states to a second power state of the multiple power states based on a condition being satisfied. In such cases, a first configuration of the UE associated with the first power state may be different than a second configuration of the UE associated with the second power state.

Considerations for communication power states

A method for wireless communication at a first user equipment (UE) and related apparatus are provided. In the method, the first UE communicates with one or more UEs over sidelink (SL). The first UE further transmits or receives configuration information for SL communication with the one or more UEs or uplink communication with a network entity. The method improves the reliability of wireless communication, particularly in XR-related applications, and facilitates the power transfers of energy harvesting UEs.

Managing signals on multiple wireless links

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for transmitting two or more transport blocks in an uplink transmission, in which a transmitting device may skip transmissions in some portion of a set of allocated resources for the transport blocks. Uplink data may be encoded to be transmitted via the multiple transport blocks, where a first transport block may have first transport block size that is different than a second transport block size of a second transport block. The transport block sizes may be less than the size of the set of allocated resources, and the transport blocks may be transmitted via the different transmission layers, and a portion of the allocated resources may be unused. The transmitting device may provide an indication of the unused resources for use in decoding the transport blocks.
