Closed loop control of physiological glucose

Methods, systems, and computer readable media are disclosed for estimating an amount of an analyte in blood of a subject. In an example, a method includes obtaining a noise filtered current by noise filtering a current received from an analyte sensor placed interstitially in tissue of the subject, estimating one or more blood analyte calibration parameters based on the noise filtered current, obtaining a second set of one or more interstitial analyte calibration parameters based at least in part on the one or more blood analyte calibration parameters, and estimating the amount of the analyte in the blood of the subject based on the noise filtered current and the one or more interstitial analyte calibration parameters. In this way, an analyte sensor that is placed interstitially may readily be calibrated to report accurate blood analyte values.

There is provided a method and a system for determining recommended multiple daily injections (MDI) therapy values for administering to a given subject. Consumed meals, insulin basal doses administered and insulin bolus doses administered to the given subject are received. An initial meal ratio parameter and an initial basal insulin dose used by the given subject are received. A predicted glucose concentration parameter is determined based on the consumed meals, the insulin basal dose, the insulin bolus doses, and the initial meal ratio parameter. An actual glucose concentration parameter is received. A set of optimal MDI therapy parameters are estimated using the predicted glucose concentration parameter, and the actual glucose concentration parameter. A set of optimal MDI therapy parameters are determined based on the current MDI therapy parameters, the set of recommended MDI therapy parameters comprising an optimal meal ratio parameter, and an optimal basal insulin dose to be administered to the given subject.

Method and system for determining optimal and recommended therapy parameters for diabetic subject

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for controlling physiological glucose concentrations in a patient using a closed loop artificial pancreas. The systems and methods may utilize a controller with control logic operative to execute a multi-model predictive controller algorithm to determine a medication dose to the patient.
