The present invention relates to new biopolymer, i.e. bioorganic nylons incorporating peptidic blocks obtained by a process of polymerization of amino peptidic blocks. The process of the invention comprises the steps of mixing amino peptidic blocks with or without a diaminoalcane and reacting the mixture according to polycondensation with a diacyl chloride in homogeneous or heterogeneous media.

The present invention relates to materials and particularly 'organometallic-organic-inorganic hybrid materials' that can be used as heterogeneous catalysts for selective catalytic reactions. More precisely this invention relates to organic-inorganic hybrid nanostructured materials comprising a regularly distributed stabilized carbene that binds strongly to a metal so as to form a stable organometallic-organic-inorganic hybrid material having high catalytic performances.

The invention concerns a method for preparing organic-inorganic hybrid materials with controlled porosity and functionality comprising hydrolysis and condensation polymerization of a compound of formula (I): Z-R&#x2014;Si(OR)(OR')(OR&#x2033;), with an alkaline or alkaline-earth silicate in a mol ratio of (I)/(silicate)=1:9, in the presence of a non-ionic surfactant, to form a mesoporous silica represented by Z-R&#x2014;SiO9 SiO, whereon is then anchored an organic compound, represented by (&#x394;)N&#x2014;H, comprising a &#x2014;NH&#x2014; group capable of reacting with Z, to form a functionalized mesoporous silica represented by (&#x394;)N&#x2014;R&#x2014;SiO9 SiO, which is optionally complexed with a metallic cation to form an organometallic complex. The invention also concerns the use of these materials to separate gases.

The invention also concerns the use of these materials to separate gases.

A novel compound which can be used in the field of separation and purification of gases is disclosed. The compound can be incorporated into a silica gel incorporating polyazacycloalkane structural units for separating a predetermined gas from a mixture of gases. The mixture of gases is brought into contact with a metallated hybrid gel under conditions which make possible the absorption of the gas to be separated, followed by a phase of desorption of the attached gas, and the recovery of the gas.

The invention concerns a method for preparing polyazacycloalkanes immobilised on a silica gel from a polyazacycloalkane of formula (A) in which: R and R represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical, or a &lsqb;hetero(aryl)&rsqb;alkyl radical; W , W and W represent a radical of formula (B): &mdash;&lsqb;(CT T ) &mdash;&lsqb;N(R )&rsqb; &mdash;(CT T ) &rsqb; &mdash; such as defined in the description; R represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical or a &lsqb;hetero(aryl)&rsqb;alkyl radical, provided that the polyazacycloalkane ring of the compound of formula (A) comprises not more than 30 cyclic carbon atoms, and not more than 6 cyclic nitrogen atoms. The invention is characterised in that: (a) the compound of formula (A) is reacted with a compound of formula (C): Z&mdash;R &mdash;Si(X )(X )(X ), such as defined in the description to form a compound of formula (D); (b) said compound of formula (D) is condensed on the silanol sites of a silica gel to form the immobilised polyazacycloalkane of formula (E); and (c) some ethanol sites having not reacted are, if required, protected by Z&prime;, a group protecting the hydroxyl function. The invention is useful for separating oxygen from air.
