Resonator control techniques for wireless power transmitting units are described. One or more novel parameters may be defined for use in conjunction with dominant PRU selection on the part of a PTU. In various embodiments, each of a plurality of PRUs may determine values for one or more such parameters, and may report those values to the PTU. In some embodiments, the PTU may identify a parameter to be used as a selection criterion, and may identify the dominant PRU based on the respective values reported for that parameter by the plurality of PRUs. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Resonator control techniques for wireless power transmitting units

A method by a User Equipment (UE) is described. The method includes receiving, from a radio access network, one or more radio resource control (RRC) messages. The one or more RRC messages are used to configure a dual connectivity in which the UE communicates with the radio access network using a first set of cell(s) and a second set of cell(s) and to configure a signaling radio bearer (SRB) for the second set of cell(s). The one or more RRC messages are sent via a signaling radio bearer of the first set of cell(s).

Devices and methods for establishing multiple connections

A user equipment (UE) for reporting information is described. The UE includes a processor and instructions stored in memory that is in electronic communication with the processor. The UE selects a reference cell having a reference uplink-downlink (UL-DL) configuration. The UE also selects a first uplink subframe from the reference cell. The UE further selects a first subframe set from a first cell having a first UL-DL configuration. The first UL-DL configuration is different than the reference UL-DL configuration. The UE additionally determines a first set of associations between the first subframe set and the first uplink subframe. The UE further aggregates information corresponding to the reference cell and information corresponding to the first cell based on the first set of associations to produce aggregated information. The UE also reports the aggregated information on an uplink reporting cell.

Devices for reporting uplink information

Methods, systems, and devices provide improved proximity services. In one aspect, a base station includes an information generating module and an information transmission module. The information generating module generates control information for causing a mobile device to initiate a discovery signal transmission procedure. The discovery signal transmission procedure allows the mobile device to be discovered. The information transmission module transmits the control information to the mobile device. In another aspect, a mobile device includes an information receiving module, a control module, and a signal transmission module. The information receiving module receives control information. The control module initiates a discovery signal transmission procedure for proximity services responsive to the information receiving module receiving the control information. The discovery signal transmission procedure includes generating a discovery signal allowing the mobile device to be discovered. The signal transmission module broadcasts the discovery signal.

Proximity service discovery using a licensed frequency spectrum

A method for reporting uplink control information (UCI) on a user equipment (UE) is described. A second channel state information (CSI) report is transmitted. The second CSI report is computed from interference measurements only on a subframe of the CSI reference resource. A first CSI report is computed from interference measurements based on an unrestricted observation interval in time and frequency. The CSI reference resource for the second CSI report reported in uplink subframe n is defined by a valid downlink subframe n&#x2212;k.

Channel state measurement and reporting

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and apparatus related to dominant power receiving unit selection. A device may determine a presence of a first device of one or more devices on a charging area of the device, the charging area including a power transmitting surface. The device may establish a connection with the first device using one or more communication protocols. The device may identify one or more parameters associated with the first device using the established connection. The device may determine that the first device is a dominant device based at least in part on the one or more parameters.

Dominant power receiving unit selection

Wireless link management techniques for wireless charging systems are described. According to some such techniques, a power receiving unit (PRU) may be configured to observe a rectifier voltage while operating in a charge complete connected (CCC) mode according to which it possesses a wireless connection with a power transmitting unit (PTU) operating in a power save state. In various embodiments, the PRU may be configured to observe the rectifier voltage in an attempt to detect power beacons generated by the PTU. In some embodiments, the PRU may be configured to maintain the wireless connection if it detects power beacons, and to terminate the wireless connection if it does not detect any beacons. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Wireless link management techniques for wireless charging systems

The disclosure relates to a method, apparatus and system to wirelessly charge a device. Specifically, the disclosed embodiments provide improved charging stations for increased active charging area. In one embodiment, the disclosure relates to an offset device for use with a Power Receiving Unit (PRU). The offset device includes a conductive layer supporting an aperture, the aperture aligned with an inner most coil loop of the PRU; and a first slot formed in the conductive layer extending from the aperture to an outside edge of the conductive layer.

An example method includes receiving communication data from the second PTU, the communication data being generated by the PRU, wherein the first PTU and the second PTU are capable of providing wireless power to power receiving units; determining that the communication data is intended for the first PTU based on the connected device mapping; and transmitting the communication data to the first PTU.

Methods and apparatus for cross connection detection and mitigation in wireless power transfer networks

Generally, this disclosure provides systems, devices, methods and computer readable media for wireless power transfer with improved device identification and signaling security. A Power Receiving Unit (PRU) may include a receive resonator module to receive power from a Power Transmitting Unit (PTU) over an inductive resonant coupling link. The power may be modulated to provide signaling between the PRU and the PTU over the resonant coupling link. The PRU may also include a signaling link communication module to provide a second type of signaling between the PRU and the PTU over a wireless communication link. The PRU may further include a controller module to receive a random number, generated by the PTU, over the resonant coupling link; calculate an encoded response based on the random number and on an identifier of the PRU; and transmit the encoded response to the PTU over the wireless communication link, for verification by the PTU.

Wireless power transfer with improved device identification and signaling link security

A User Equipment (UE) for sending Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) information is described. The UE includes a processor and instructions stored in memory that is in electronic communication with the processor. The UE determines a primary cell (PCell) configuration. The UE also determines a secondary cell (SCell) configuration. The UE further determines whether the PCell configuration specifies uplink (UL) and the SCell configuration specifies downlink (DL) for a subframe or whether the PCell configuration specifies DL and the SCell configuration specifies DL for the subframe. The UE additionally determines a HARQ Acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) reporting subframe based on the PCell configuration if the PCell configuration specifies DL and the SCell configuration specifies DL for the subframe. The UE also sends SCell Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) HARQ-ACK information in the HARQ-ACK reporting subframe.

Devices for sending and receiving hybrid automatic repeat request information for carrier aggregation

Techniques of providing increased safety for wireless systems are described herein. A wireless power receiving unit includes a first receiving coil to inductively couple to a wireless power transmitting unit having a transmitting coil. A safety component is provided to reduce wireless power received at a second receiving coil from the wireless power transmitting unit.

A method for reporting uplink control information (UCI) on a user equipment (UE) is described. A collision of multiple channel state information (CSI) reports corresponding to multiple component carriers (CCs) that are scheduled to be reported in the same subframe is detected. A highest priority CSI report of the multiple CSI reports is determined using a prioritization scheme. The highest priority CSI report is transmitted.
