The present disclosure relates to a solution on cell off indication via DCI. In particular, a group common DCI format is used to indicate an activation/deactivation of the cell off for entering network energy saving mode. DCI in the group common DCI format may include separate bits for a first indication regarding the activation/deactivation of the cell off for entering network energy saving mode and a second indication regarding the activation/deactivation of cell DTX/DRX. Alternatively, the DCI may include common bits for the first and second indications with a flag to indicate which indication. In this way, the cell off for entering network energy saving mode can be indicated more efficiently.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses and computer readable storage media of energy harvesting information supported User Equipment (UE) scheduling. The method includes reporting, to a network device in the radio network, energy harvesting capability of the terminal device indicating a first energy value (ΔE) collected during a first time interval (Δt) and a second energy value (E) averaged over a second time interval; and communicating with the network device to transmit data according to scheduling information received from the network device and determined based on the energy harvesting capability of the terminal device. In this way, the terminal device may be scheduled by the network based on its energy harvesting capability, to maintain a trade-off between harvested energy utilization and fairness in scheduling from Passive IoT UEs.

The terminal device, then, acquires information on an expected latency of incoming RRC messages within the RNA. In response to triggering a RRC connection resume procedure, the terminal device performs the following: First, the terminal device transmits a RRC connection resume request to a target access node and starts a timer defined based on the expected latency. In response to the timer expiring, the terminal device initiates monitoring of incoming RRC messages. During an RRC Connection setup or resume procedure, a user equipment may explicitly identify itself to the network using Msg3. Rather than using the spare bit or including additional bits in Msg3, one or more values of the LCID field of the MAC sub-header of the MAC PDU may be used to identify a reduced capability user equipment. The one or more LCID field values that can identify a reduced capability user equipment may also be configured to identify a common control channel service data unit size. A plurality of LCID field values may be defined to identify varies types of RedCap UEs.

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for user equipment (UE) context duplication. In certain embodiments, when a UE may resume at a target network node within its configured radio area, a duplication of a UE context may occur at the target network node, and the target network node may allocate an additional/secondary identifier to the UE. The secondary identifier may indicate the UE's identity within the network. When configured with a secondary identifier, the UE may retain an original/primary identifier assigned by the anchor network node. The anchor network node may retain the UE context and may maintain user plane connectivity to a core network. The UE may use this primary identifier for operations within the configured radio area, whereas the secondary identifier may be used when resuming operations to a cell that is outside of the configured radio area.

The present disclosure relates generally to the field of wireless communications, and in particular to techniques for efficiently transferring, among network nodes, an access context required to initiate data transfer when a user equipment (UE) is in an active or suspended Radio Access Network (RAN) connection state. The techniques disclosed herein involve identifying, based on UE-specific data (such, for example, as mobility information, a traffic profile), one or more relevant network nodes where the UE in the suspended RAN connection state could be located at the time when next data transfer needs to be initiated. After that, the access context is sent from an anchor network node to said one or more relevant network nodes. By sending the access context in this manner, network signalling overhead and storage capacity overhead may be significantly reduced.
