A powdery composition C1 contains for 100% of the mass: 5 to 70 mass % and more particularly 10 to 50 mass % of at least one compound of formula (I): R&#x2014;O-(G)-H, wherein R is a linear saturated aliphatic radical including 12 to 22 carbon atoms, G is the remainder of a reducing sugar selected from the group including glucose, xylose and arabinose, and x is a decimal number greater than or equal to 1 and lower than or equal to 10; 95 to 30 mass % and more particularly 90 to 50 mass % of one or more alcohols of formula (II): R'&#x2014;OH, wherein R&#x2032; is a linear saturated aliphatic radical including 12 to 22 carbon atoms identical to or different from R as defined in formula (I), wherein at least 90 vol % of the particles have a diameter lower than or equal to 250 micrometers, more particularly a diameter lower than or equal to 150 micrometers.

An oil-in-water emulsion includes, for 100 wt % thereof: a) 0.1 to 10 wt % of an emulsifying system including, for 100 wt % thereof: (i) 5 to 95 wt % of the mixture of the reaction products of a reducing sugar and 1,12-octadecanediol essentially consisting of hydroxyl-octadecyl polyglycosides of formula (I): HO&#x2014;R&#x2014;O-(G)-H (I) and of polyglycosyl octadecyl polyglycosides of formula (II): H-(G)-O&#x2014;R&#x2014;O-(G)-H (II), where, in formulas (I) and (II), G is the remainder of the reducing sugar and R is the divalent radical octadecane-diyl-1,12, and where n, m and p, identical or different, each are, independently of each other, a decimal number between 1 and 5; (ii) 95 to 5 wt % of 1,12-octadecanediol; b) 0.01 to 5 wt % of at least one thickening and/or gelling agent; c) 10 to 50 wt % of an oil phase; and d) 89.89 to 35 wt % of an aqueous phase.
