A device for detecting electromagnetic radiation, including a readout circuit, which is located in a substrate, and an electrical connection pad, which is placed on the substrate, including a metal section that is raised above the substrate and electrically connected to the readout circuit. The detection device furthermore includes a protection wall that extends under the raised metal section so as to define therewith at least one portion of a cavity, and what is called a reinforcing layer section that is located in the cavity and on which the raised metal section rests.

A bolometric detector includes a substrate; bolometric detection microbridges suspended above the substrate and thermally insulated from the substrate; bolometric compensation microbridges suspended above the substrate and thermalized to the substrate; and a read circuit formed in the substrate to apply a biasing to the detection microbridges and to the compensation microbridges and to form differences between signals generated by detection microbridges and signals generated by compensation microbridges under the effect of the applied biasing. Each detection microbridge and each compensation microbridge includes electrically-conductive anchoring nails connected to the read circuit, a membrane attached to the anchoring nails above the substrate, and a thermometric element arranged in the membrane. The detector further includes thermal short-circuit elements between the membrane of each compensation microbridge and the substrate.

Bolometric detector with a compensation bolometer having an enhanced thermalization

The invention relates to the use of a material having a spinel ferrite/iron monoxide structure as a sensitive material in the form of a thin film for the bolometric detection of infrared radiation, the chemical composition of said structure, excluding doping agents that may be present, having empirical formula (I): (FeM)O, where x is strictly less than 1 and strictly greater than 0.75. The invention also relates to a bolometric device for infrared radiation detection and infrared imaging, comprising at least one sensor provided with a sensitive element in the form of a thin film as defined above.

Use of a combination of iron monoxide and spinel oxides as a sensitive material for detecting infrared radiation

This bolometric array detector for detecting electromagnetic radiation in a predetermined range of infrared or terahertz wavelengths comprises a substrate and an array of bolometric micro-plates for detecting said radiation that are suspended above the substrate by support arms. It comprises a metallic membrane located above and around each micro-plate and in which openings are formed; said openings in metallic membrane are periodically located in it along at least one predetermined axis with a period equal to or less than where &#x3bb; is a wavelength in the wavelength range that is to be detected and n is the average refraction index of the medium that separates the micro-plate from metallic membrane.

Infrared detector based on suspended bolometric micro-plates

A multispectral sensor which includes a complementary metal oxide semiconductor substrate having a switching circuit, at least one antenna-receiving combination device for detecting terahertz radiation, at least one additional bolometer for detecting mid-range infrared radiation, and at least one diode for detecting radiation in the visible to near-infrared range. A multispectral imaging and/or spectroscopy system, a method for detecting and/or examining life forms, objects, and materials using such a system, and the use of such a sensor and system are also described.

Multispectral sensor

A bolometric array detector for detecting electromagnetic radiation in a predetermined range of infrared wavelengths includes a substrate; an array of bolometric micro-plates for detecting the radiation suspended above the substrate by support arms; and metallic reflectors formed on the substrate underneath the micro-plates to reflect that portion of the radiation which has passed through said micro-plates without being absorbed by the latter. For each micro-plate, a corresponding reflector includes a first part located underneath the micro-plate which extends as a second part not positioned underneath the micro-plate. At least the second part has surface texturing in a repeating pattern for coupling a portion of incident radiation on the second part to a guided wave that propagates towards the first part of the reflector positioned underneath micro-plate.

This method for sealing a cavity of a component placed in the chamber is carried out by physical vapour deposition (PVD) of germanium or silicon.

Method for low-temperature sealing of a cavity under vacuum or under controlled atmosphere

A thermal detector comprising a sensitive material having at least one electrical property of which varies with temperature; an electromagnetic radiation absorber which is in contact with the sensitive material; a substrate providing the function of support; and electrically conductive elements providing electrical continuity between sensitive material and substrate. The sensitive material is wholly or partly in the form of a sheet extending in a direction which is essentially perpendicular to the plane of the substrate. The sensitive material is suspended above the substrate by the absorber which is fixed to the sensitive material in the upper region of the sheet. The absorber is suspended by fixing means which is mechanically connected to the substrate.
