An approach is provided for customizing map presentations. A semantic mapping platform determines context information for rendering a map on a user device. The semantic mapping platform then classifies a plurality of objects available for display in the map based on a level of association of each of the objects with the context information. The semantic mapping platform also prioritizes rendering of the objects based on the classification and causes, at least in part, actions that result in the rendering of the objects in the map according to the prioritization.

Method and apparatus for providing contextual rendering of a map

An approach is provided for providing an ordering metric for a multi-dimensional contextual query. An ordering platform determines a multi-dimensional query associated with at least one user device, wherein the multi-dimensional query specifies, at least in part, one or more personas, one or more contexts, or a combination thereof associated with the at least one user device. The ordering platform further causes, at least in part, an execution of the multi-dimensional query on at least one context-sensitive database to generate one or more results. The ordering platform further determines at least one ordering metric for the one or more results based, at least in part, on one or more user contextual attributes of the at least one user device.

An apparatus, comprising a processor, memory including computer program code, the memory and the computer program code configured to, working with the processor, cause the apparatus to perform at least determining at least one significant location, receiving a first information associated with the significant location from a first information repository, retrieving a second information associated with the significant location from a second information repository, and generating a third information based at least in part on the first information and the second information is disclosed.
