A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive assignment information for receiving a first codeword using a first modulation and coding scheme (MCS) in a first set of resource blocks (RBs), and a second codeword using a second, different MCS in a second set of RBs. The first and second sets of RBs may be in a first time interval in a first bandwidth part using a first subcarrier spacing. The WTRU may receive, in symbols of the first time interval in the first bandwidth part, the first codeword using the first MCS in the first set of RBs and the second codeword using the second, different MCS in the second set of RBs. At least a portion of the first codeword and at least a portion of the second codeword may be received in at least a first symbol in the symbols in the first time interval.

Physical (PHY) layer solutions to support use of mixed numerologies in the same channel

A WTRU may be configured to transmit to a network (e.g., in a first indication) a full power uplink transmission capability associated with the WTRU, e.g., Cap3. The WTRU may receive (e.g., in a second indication) an indication of whether the WTRU is allowed to operate with full power transmission. The WTRU may determine (e.g., from a set of TPMIs), a subset of TPMIs based on, for example, the WTRU's full power uplink transmission capability (e.g., where the subset of TPMIs includes a first TPMI). The set of TPMIs may comprise one or more subsets of TPMIs. The WTRU may transmit (e.g., in a third indication) an indication of the determined subset of TPMIs. For example, a method implemented in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) for wireless communications comprises receiving configuration information of one or more sounding reference signal (SRS) resource sets, each SRS resource set of the one or more SRS resource sets is associated with a slot offset and a set of slot offset deltas; receiving downlink control information (DCI) indicating an SRS request, the SRS request indicates an SRS resource set of the one or more SRS resource sets; determining an SRS configuration from a set of SRS configurations for SRS transmissions; determining a slot for transmitting an SRS based on the determined SRS configuration; and transmitting, in the determined slot, the SRS using resources of the indicated SRS resource set.

Methods and apparatus for flexible aperiodic SRS transmission

A system, method, and device for ensuring a number of Phase Tracking Reference Signal(s) (PT-RSs) are the same for multiple slots. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive control information including a number of scheduled resource blocks (RBs) then determine a PT-RS density based on the number of scheduled RBs. The WTRU may determine a RB offset value for the WTRU based on a WTRU-ID modulo the maximum RB offset value, where the maximum value for the RB offset value may be based on at least one of the number of the scheduled RBs and the PT-RS density. The WTRU may then transmit or receive a signal with PT-RS based on the RB offset value.

Phase tracking reference signal transmission

Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface devices, RIS, may be used to improve receipt of radio signals received by wireless transmit-receive units, WTRUs, in a given area. In such area, WTRUs may receive radio signals directly from the transmitter, and indirectly, via reflection of the radio signals from the transmitter by the RIS device. A RIS may consist of programmable sub-wavelength sized unit cells placed in close proximity. Each unit cell behaves like a scatterer. Embodiments of a new RIS structure are described here, being based on a nearly passive reflecting platform. In a Nearly-Passive RIS structure according to embodiments, NP-RIS, each unit cell is programmed to have a constant invariable phase-shift. Embodiments of a unit cell selection method are described, to control the reflected wave by selecting a subset of unit cells whose reflection could assist coherent alignment of the reflected wave with the main direct signal at the WTRU.

Method for transmission of radio signals between a transmitter device and a wireless transmit-receive unit using a reconfigurable intelligent surface and corresponding device

Methods, apparatuses, systems, etc., directed to sounding reference signal (SRS) antenna switching are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, a WTRU may transmit information indicating existence of a sounding reference signal (SRS) power imbalance for at least one transmit and receive (xTyR) antenna configuration in a set of xTyR antenna configurations. For example, the WTRU may receive a request to report SRS power imbalance information. For example, the WTRU may transmit the SRS power imbalance information indicating, for at least one SRS resource set associated with the at least one xTyR antenna configuration, (i) one or more impacted SRS resources in the at least one SRS resource set and (ii) one or more power imbalance values for the one or more impacted SRS resources.

Methods, apparatuses and systems directed to sounding reference signal antenna switching

Method and apparatuses for communication over an unlicensed band are provided herein. A method may comprise transmitting transport blocks in each slot of a plurality of slots and determining a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) status for each of the transmitted transport blocks. The method may further comprise determining a weighting coefficient for each of the determined HARQ statuses and calculating, based on the determined HARQ statuses and weighting coefficients, a weighted average of the HARQ statuses for the transmitted transport blocks. The method may further comprise adjusting a Listen-Before-Talk (LBT) contention window size based on the calculated weighted average of the HARQ statuses.

Methods for contention window size adjustment in unlicensed spectrum

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for physical (PHY) layer multiplexing of different types of traffic in 5G systems. A device may receive a communication. The communication may include a first traffic type. The device may monitor the communication for an indication that the communication includes a second traffic type that is multiplexed with and/or punctures the first traffic type. An indicator received in the communication and detected by the monitoring may indicate where the second traffic type is located in the communication. The first traffic type and the second traffic type may be multiplexed at a resource element (RE) level. For example, a first traffic type may be punctured by a second traffic type at the RE level. The device may decode one or more of the first or second traffic types in the communication based on the indication.

PHY layer multiplexing of different types of traffic in 5G systems

Methods and apparatus for beam refinement are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may be configured to receive configuration information. The configuration information may indicate an association between preambles, synchronization signal blocks (SSBs), reference signal (RS) sets, and physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) resources. The WTRU may be configured to receive a plurality of SSBs, determine a measurement of the received SSBs, and select an SSB based on the determined measurement. The WTRU may be configured to select and transmit a preamble using a first beam. The WTRU may be configured to receive a plurality of sets of RSs based on the transmitted preamble and determine a measurement of the received sets of RSs. The WTRU may be configured to select a RS based on the determined measurement of the received sets of RSs. The WTRU may be configured to transmit uplink data on a PUSCH using a second beam.

Methods and apparatus for msg-A transmission in two-step RACH

Methods and apparatus for wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) power control are described. A method includes receiving a time domain resource allocation (TDRA) list configuration including entries, each including a resource allocation that includes a slot offset value. L1 signaling is received indicating a minimum slot offset value. Downlink control information (DCI) is decoded on a physical downlink control channel in a slot. An index is obtained from the decoded DCI, identifying an entry in the TDRA list. A particular slot offset value identified by the index is retrieved from the TDRA list and compared with the minimum slot offset value. If the particular slot offset value is less than the minimum slot offset value, the entry is invalid. If the particular slot offset value is greater than or equal to the minimum slot offset value, a physical downlink shared channel is received.

Methods and apparatus for wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) power control

A method performed by a base station includes transmitting configuration information indicating a plurality of physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resources for transmitting uplink control information (UCI) and one or more thresholds associated with a number of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) bits to be included in the UCI. Each of the plurality of PUCCH resources is associated with at least one PUCCH format and a respective number of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols. The base station transmits a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission indicating to transmit the UCI. The base station receives a PUCCH transmission that includes the UCI, using one of the PUCCH resources and an associated PUCCH format. The UCI includes a number of HARQ bits that satisfies one of the indicated thresholds, and the PUCCH transmission includes a number of OFDM symbols corresponding to the PUCCH format.

Determining physical channel resources in a wireless network

Systems, methods, and devices for addressing power savings signals in wireless communication. A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may monitor for an energy saving signal (ESS) while the WTRU is asleep (e.g., prior to a discontinuous reception (DRX) ON duration that includes one or more search spaces). The WTRU may measure the energy of the ESS. If the ESS is below a threshold, the WTRU fallback to a default operation or continue in a current operating mode (e.g., remain asleep to save power). If the ESS is above a threshold, the ESS may be received using a coverage enhancement (CE) level based on a parameter associated with a search space. The parameter may be the highest aggregation level of the one or more search spaces.
