A method performed by a first IP multimedia system, IMS, node (), for handling a network function in a communication network. The first IMS node () requests a first core network node () for at least a part of contact information of a network function instance, and receives a response from the first core network node () with at least the part of the contact information for the network function instance. The first IMS node () communicates with a second IMS node () or a core network node over a service based interface, based on the received part of the contact information for the network function instance.

First IMS node, first core network node, second IMS node, and methods performed therein

Embodiments herein relate to e.g. a method performed by a user equipment, UE, for handling a service in a wireless communication network. The UE perform, upon handling an emergency service, a connection to a second cell of a second RAT for handling the emergency service, and performs the emergency service in the second cell of the second RAT. The UE then stays connected in the second cell of the second RAT for a time interval relating to initiation of the emergency service or finalization of the emergency service.

Network node, user equipment, and methods performed in a communication network

A method performed by a first node () managing a P-CSCF in a first communications network (). The method is for handling identification of a second communications network (). One of the communications networks is a home network and the other is a visited network. The first node () obtains () a unique identifier uniquely identifying the second communications network () in a plurality of networks () sharing a Mobile Network identifier. The unique identifier is based on: a) an MCC and an MNC, corresponding to a shared PLMN identifier, and b) a subscriber identifier corresponding to the second network (). The first node () also processes () provision of an IMS service across the communications networks, to a device () operating in the visited network, based on the identifier. First node, second node and methods performed thereby for handling identification of a communications network

A technique for preparing User Equipment, UE, mobility from a 4G network to a 2G/3G network for a UE moving from a 5G network to the 2G/3G network via the 4G network is disclosed. A method implementation of the technique is performed by a network node after the UE has moved from the 5G network to the 4G network and includes triggering, for each of one or more bearers handed over from the 5G network to the 4G network for the UE, an update bearer procedure to provide one or more 2G/3G Quality of Service, QoS, parameters to the UE required to hand over the respective bearer to the 2G/3G network when the UE moves from the 4G network to the 2G/3G network.

Technique for preparing user equipment mobility

A technique for preparing User Equipment, UE, mobility to a 2G/3G network for a UE moving from a 5G network, optionally via a 4G network, to the 2G/3G network is disclosed. A method implementation of the technique is performed by a network node of the 5G network and comprises triggering (S) providing one or more 2G/3G Quality of Service, QoS, parameters to the UE required to hand over at least one QoS flow established between the UE and the 5G network to the 2G/3G network when the UE moves to the 2G/3G network.

Method of establishing a voice over internet protocol, VoIP, call between a calling user equipment, UE, and a called UE

When a user equipment is roaming in a visited network, mid-call handover from VoWiFi to VoLTE is controlled by policies enforced in the user equipment and the home network. An inter-operator policy and a subscription policy are stored in the home network and a user equipment policy is stored in the user equipment. The roaming user equipment registers in a visited network. Later, when mid-call handover to VoLTE on the visited network is desired, and also permitted by its user equipment policy, the user equipment sends a request containing a call-specific identifier which the responsible network entity in the home network compares with the registered handover parameter having regard to the inter-operator and subscription policies. If compliance with the policies is found, then the mid-call handover is proceeded with.

Managing user equipment roaming status changes in a radio access network

The embodiments herein relate to terminating call handling for power saving activated user equipment. In one embodiment, there proposes a method in a IP Multimedia Subsystem Application Server, IMS-AS, for handling a terminating call for a User Equipment, UE, using power saving functionality, comprising: obtaining power saving information of the UE; handling the terminating call based on the power saving information. With the embodiments, the time and network resource for the terminating call can be saved and the user's experience can be enhanced.

A method for registering a User Equipment, UE, with low access priority in an Internet Protocol based Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, network said method comprising the steps of receiving, by a Proxy-Call Serving Control Function, P-CSCF node comprised by said IMS network, a Session Initiation Protocol, SIP, Register message for registering said UE in said IMS network, determining, by said P-CSCF node, that said SIP Register message comprises an indication that said UE is using a low access priority, wherein said low access priority indicates at least a reduced priority for said UE for accessing network resources, and establishing, by said P-CSCF node, said registration of said UE with said determined low access priority indication. Complementary methods and devices for performing a method according to the invention are also presented herein.

There is provided mechanisms for indicating evolved packet system (EPS) fallback capability. A method is performed by a user equipment (UE). The method comprises providing, towards a call session control function (CSCF), call status information with respect to EPS fallback capability of the UE. There is also provided a UE configured to perform such a method.

A network node controls communication of user equipment in a mobile network with cellular network access and wireless local area network access. The network node receives from a further network node, information concerning a wireless local area network access to which the user equipment is attached and information concerning a cellular network access to which the user equipment is attached. On the basis of the received information, the network node controls whether to provide at least one service via the wireless local area network access or via the cellular network access.

Access information handling in a mobile network with cellular network accesses and wireless local area network accesses

The application relates to a method for operating a first radio access nodeof a first packet switched mobile communications network. The first radio access node receives a request for establishing a data packet session requiring a defined quality of service and determines that the data packet session cannot be handled by the first packet switched communications network. The first radio access node triggers a hand over to a second packet switched mobile communications network based on the determining and transmits an indication towards a mobile entity () involved in the data packet session indicating that a resource for the data packet session will be available when the handover is completed.

Quality of service initiated handover

A communication network allows an end user to dynamically select a user device among user devices associated with the user's subscription as the primary user device by defining a primary capability tag or attribute. Selection of a user device sets the primary capability tag of the selected user device, which is published towards an application server. The application server notifies all other user devices in the group of devices. If a previous user device in the group of user devices was set as the primary user device, then, in response to the notification, the previous user device performs a re-registration with the network removing the previous user device as the primary user device for the services associated with the user subscription. The selected user device also performs a re-registration/registration with the network so all incoming requests for services associated with the user subscription are sent to the selected user device.
