A device for measuring a vehicle has at least one image capturing device, that includes at least one camera having at least one light incidence region configured to allow light from an object to be captured by the camera to strike the camera through the at least one light incidence region. The device also has a device for keeping the light incidence region clean and/or for cleaning the same, that features at least one deflecting element that is movable over the light incidence region in a way that allows it to prevent the deposition of dust and dirt on the light incidence region and/or to remove dust and/or dirt from the at least one light incidence region.

Device for measuring a vehicle

An apparatus for measuring the running gear of a motor vehicle includes: a left measuring unit for positioning on a left side of the motor vehicle, in such a way that a measurement target on a left front wheel and a measurement target on a left rear wheel of the motor vehicle can be sensed from the left measuring unit; a right measuring unit for positioning on a right side of the vehicle, in such a way that a measurement target on a right front wheel and a measurement target on a right rear wheel of the motor vehicle can be sensed from the right measuring unit; and an evaluation device embodied to identify the vehicle geometry data from images of the measurement targets of the front wheels and of the measurement targets of the rear wheels by way of a comparison with reference images of the measurement targets.

Device and method for measuring the running gear of a motor vehicle

The invention relates to a method for calibrating a measurement system having at least one image recording apparatus () having at least two measurement cameras () that form a stereo camera system, and having an analysis unit (), wherein the measurement system is calibrated by means of a calibration device () having reference features (). The process flow of the method is divided into three steps, wherein in a first step the 3D coordinates of the reference features () are determined in a measurement space () of the calibration device () by at least one image recording camera (), and in a second step at least one of the image recording apparatuses () is disposed in the measurement space () of the calibration device (), and in a third step the 3D coordinates of the at least one image recording apparatus () and/or of the at least two measurement cameras () are determined in a common 3D coordinate system by means of the analysis unit () using the 3D coordinates determined in the first step. The calibration device () comprises a measurement space () for receiving the image recording apparatus () and said measurement space is at least partially bounded by a measurement frame () having the reference features ().

Method for calibrating a measurement system and device for carrying out the method

A method for calibrating a vehicle surroundings sensor () includes the steps of attaching at least one target pair () to the rear wheels () of a motor vehicle (); recording the target pair () using at least one measuring unit () and determining the vehicle axis () from the recording; placing a target () in a known position relative to a vehicle surroundings sensor adjustment or calibration element (); fastening at least one measuring unit () by means of fastening adapters () to a running rail (); recording the target () placed on the vehicle surroundings sensor adjustment and determining the angular position of the vehicle surroundings sensor adjustment or calibration element () relative to the vehicle axis (); aligning the vehicle surroundings sensor adjustment or calibration element () relative to the vehicle axis (); and adjusting the vehicle surroundings sensor () relative to the vehicle axis ().

Method for adjusting or calibrating a vehicle surrounding sensor, and a vehicle surrounding sensor adjustment or calibration system

A method and a device are provided for the optical axle alignment of wheels of a motor vehicle. At the wheels that are to be aligned, targets are mounted, having optically recordable marks, the targets being recordable by measuring units that have stereo camera devices. In a referencing process, using a referencing device that is integrated into the measuring units, a measuring position reference system is established for the measuring units. In a calibration process, in which a local 3D coordinate system is established using at least three marks of the target, the determination of a reference plane is carried out, using a significant mark of the target. Finally, using the reference plane, a vehicle longitudinal center plane is ascertained, while taking into account the measuring location reference system. In a subsequent measuring process, an image is recorded of at least three indeterminate marks taken during the calibration process, and their spatial position is ascertained in the local 3D coordinate system by the evaluation unit.
