Disclosed is a method for treating water including: &#x2014;an adsorption step which involves bringing the water into contact with a new adsorbant, the water being referred to as 'pre-adsorbed water' before being brought into contact with the new adsorbant, and being referred to as 'adsorbed water' after being brought into contact with the new adsorbant, and&#x2014;a recirculation step which involves removing at least a portion of the new adsorbant brought into contact with the water during the adsorption step, the removed portion constituting a used adsorbant. During the recirculation step, the used adsorbant is brought into contact with the pre-adsorbed water. Also, the pre-adsorbed water does not undergo a clarification step that involves eliminating from the water at least a portion of the suspended matter that it contains. Also disclosed is a device for implementing such a method.

Method and device for treating water by contact with an adsorbent material

A method for the treatment of effluents containing nitrogen in the form of ammonium, in which: a volume of effluent is introduced into the batch reactor in successive volume fractions, each volume fraction being treated during a subcycle, each subcycle including a phase of feeding with a volume fraction and, in an alternating manner, two treatment stages, i.e. an aerated first stage, during which complete or partial oxidation of the ammonium takes place to give nitrites, followed by a nonaerated second stage, during which the nitrites produced and the ammonium are converted to nitrogen gas. During the aerated first stage, the dissolved oxygen concentration in the batch reactor is maintained between 0.1 mgO/l and 0.6 mgO/l; the N&#x2014;NO:N&#x2014;NHratio is adjusted to be between 0.9 and 1.5 at the beginning of the nonaerated stage; and the nonaerated phase is carried out by deammonification, without the provision of carbon-based substrate.

Method and plant for the treatment of effluents containing nitrogen in a sequencing batch reactor

The invention relates to a method for processing nitrogen-concentrated effluents by ammonia oxidation into nitrites followed by nitrite denitritation in a gaseous nitrogen in a sequential biological reactor () consisting in pouring a processable effluent volume in to the reactor by successive volume fractions, in dividing the entire processing cycle into successive sub cycles, wherein each sub-cycle comprises a feeding phase, an aeration phase for nitrification and an anoxia phase along which a carbon-containing source is introduced into the reactor for converting nitrites into nitrogen. The inventive method also consists in evaluating a nitrogenous volume charge in the effluent to be processed, mainly by measuring the effluent conductivity (X) and the flow rate (Q) and in determining the number of feeding phases of the entire cycle according to nitrogenous charge and to a minimum volume of liquid in the reactor in such a way that an injected nitrogen concentration is diluted in the liquid volume, wherein the volume phase nitrogenous charge is however sufficient for producing a single shot or peak of the ammonia charge favourable for a nitrating biomass formation in the reactor.
