A trigger assembly includes a selector operable between a safe position, a semiautomatic fire position, and an automatic fire position. In one example, the assembly includes a trigger rotatable between a resting position and a pulled position, a disconnector pivotable between a first position where it is in the path of the operational rod, and a second position where it is out of the path of the operational rod. A sear is pivotable between an engaged position and a disengaged position and is biased to the engaged position where it is positioned in the path of the operational rod. A sear link is pivotably connected to the trigger, such that pulling the trigger moves the sear link into contact with the sear to pivot the sear towards the disengaged position. The sear link is spaced from the sear when the trigger is in the resting position.

A recoil compensator for a handgun defines a through opening along a central axis, the through opening including a threaded portion configured to threadably engage the threads on the distal end portion of the barrel. The recoil compensator further defines a port in a top wall and defines fastener openings each configured to receive a taper pin. When the recoil compensator is installed on the barrel, the central axis is substantially coincident with the bore axis and the port is configured to vent a portion of propellant gases from the barrel upon firing the handgun. The threaded portion threadably engages the threads on the barrel with a distal end of the barrel positioned proximally of the port. Each taper pin is received in a respective fastener opening and engages a side of the barrel. A slide assembly and handgun including the compensator are also disclosed.

Handgun compensator

A handgun has a grip portion defining a magazine well, the grip portion having a web region configured to be grasped between a thumb and an index finger, a forward portion of the web region defining a first width. The grip portion also has a palm region configured to be grasped by a user's palm, the palm region defining a second width greater than the first width. A magazine is configured to be received in the magazine well and includes a hollow magazine tube with a single-stack portion and a double-stack portion positioned below the single-stack portion. For example, front portions of the opposite tube sidewalls have a stepped shape between the upper tube end and the double-stack portion.

Handgun and magazine therefor

A spring for a firearm magazine includes a top attachment leg, a plurality of upper coils connected to the top attachment leg, a plurality of intermediate coils below the upper coils, and a bottom attachment leg below the plurality of intermediate coils. The upper coils are sized and shaped to nest within the intermediate coils when the spring is fully compressed, reducing the solid height of the spring. In some embodiments, at least two complete upper coils and/or at least two complete lower coils nest within intermediate coils. In one example, at least some coils have a rectangular coil shape. The spring can be configured for use in a handgun magazine or a rifle magazine, for example. A handgun magazine and a magazine components kit including the spring are also disclosed.

A sight assembly for a firearm includes an optical sight configured for mounting to a firearm. The optical sight includes a sight body retaining a lens and has a point-of-aim indicator visible on the lens. A light source on the sight body is configured to communicate a firearm status to a user, such as whether a round is chambered in a chamber of the firearm. In one example, the sight assembly can be mounted to a handgun or a rifle. In some embodiments, the optical sight is configured as a reflex sight.

A sight assembly for a firearm includes an optical sight configured for mounting to a firearm. The optical sight includes a sight body retaining a lens and has a point-of-aim indicator visible on the lens. A detachable box magazine for firearms includes a hollow magazine tube extending longitudinally along a median plane. The magazine tube defines a single-stack portion extending substantially to an upper tube end that defines an upper tube opening. The magazine tube has a double-stack portion positioned below the single-stack portion and extending to a bottom tube end. For example, front portions of the opposite tube sidewalls have a stepped shape between the upper tube end and the double-stack portion, and the rear portions of the sidewalls have a linear taper between the upper tube end and the double-stack portion.

A trigger assembly is configured for a firearm having a striker movable along a bore axis between a cocked position and a fire position. The trigger assembly includes a trigger operable between a resting position and a pulled position. A first sear is operably coupled to the trigger and the striker. When the striker is in the cocked position, the first sear is movable from an engaged position to a disengaged position in response to moving the trigger from the resting position to the pulled position. A second sear is movable from a blocking position to a non-blocking position in response to moving the trigger from the resting position to the pulled position. When the trigger is in the resting position, the second sear is positioned to halt forward motion of the striker from the cocked position to the fire position.

The magazine tube defines a single-stack portion extending to an upper tube end with an upper tube opening. The magazine tube defines a double-stack portion positioned below the single-stack portion and extending to a bottom tube end with a bottom tube opening. For example, front portions of the opposite tube sidewalls have a stepped shape between the upper tube end and the double-stack portion, and the rear portions of the sidewalls have a linear taper between the upper tube end and the double-stack portion.

Handgun magazine

A takedown lever assembly for a striker-fired handgun. The takedown lever assembly includes a takedown actuation lever operable between a firing position and a takedown position, and a safety bar operatively coupled to the takedown actuation lever. The safety bar moves longitudinally along the frame in response to moving the takedown actuation lever from the firing position to the takedown position, thereby causing the sear to disengage from the striker.

A handgun sear has a sear body extending between a proximal end portion to a distal end portion. The sear defines a first engagement surface adjacent the proximal end portion and a second engagement surface positioned distally of the first engagement surface. The sear can pivot about the distal end portion between a cocked position and a displaced position. The second engagement surface can be used to arrest forward movement of the striker in the event of an impulse that causes the striker to disengage from the first engagement surface. The sear may be incorporated into a fire control assembly of a semiautomatic handgun or other firearm.
