A method for producing a coated abrasive includes producing or providing an intermediate abrasive product that comprises a substrate, a plurality of abrasive grains that are bonded to the substrate, and at least one layer of an uncured size coat that at least partially covers the abrasive grains with the uppermost size coat being uncured. The method further includes applying at least one grinding additive to the uppermost, uncured size coat with the grinding additive applied to the size coat in dry form. The method also includes curing the uppermost size coat. A coated abrasive is produced by the method and the coated abrasive is used to process a surface.

Coated grinding means

A method for dry production of a sliding layer on a flexible backing, in particular a backing that includes a textile or an abrasive backing, includes at least the following. A binder, or more particularly an adhesive such as a hot-applied adhesive or a hotmelt, is applied to a flexible backing. The binder is applied in dry form, such as via scattering, and is joined to the backing via exposure to heat to form a sliding layer on the backing and to hold the sliding layer at least one of on and in the backing. A lubricant, or more particularly a lubricant that includes graphite or PTFE, is applied to at least one of the backing and the binder.

A holding device, in particular a grinding disc, for a grinding member includes at least one support member that has at least one material opening configured for transverse transport of grinding dust to one side facing the grinding member in a plane parallel to a grinding surface. The holding device further includes at least one securing layer configured to secure the grinding member on the at least one support member. When decoupled from the grinding member, the at least one material opening is at least substantially open on a side facing the grinding member and on a side facing away from the grinding member is substantially delimited by the support member.

A mounting element for holding a self-adhesive and/or flexible abrasive includes a supporting plate, and a distributing body. The supporting plate includes a plurality of suction openings which penetrate the supporting plate from a first side to a second side opposite the first side. A first side of the distributing body is in contact with the second side of the supporting plate, and a second side of the distributing body is configured to hold an abrasive. The distributing body includes a plurality of cavities which penetrate the distributing body from the first side of the distributing body to the second side of the distributing body, and which are mutually separated by a plurality of walls. At least one of the walls has at least one aperture which connects at least two adjacent cavities to each other.

A machine tool, for example a hand-held belt grinder, is subjected to high frequencies outside a working plane between an abrasive belt and a workpiece. In particular, the machine tool is subject to high frequencies in a free-running region of the belt, of an excitation actuator, in particular by a piezo element.
