An ink composition suitable for ink jet printing operations comprising an aqueous resin dispersion and an aqueous colorant where said ink composition is substantially free of volatile organic compounds. Compositions are provided that form printed images that, without curing, are solvent-washable with isopropanol, ethanol, water, and mixtures thereof, and are retortable, without curing. Ink jet compositions capable of forming colored images capable of being washed with isopropanol, ethanol, water, and mixtures thereof, after curing, are also provided. Finally, ink jet inks capable of withstanding washing with strong organic solvents, such as methylethylketone and methanol, after curing, are also provided.

Ink jet composition and method

A method and composition for printing images onto substrates that are to be subsequently subjected to temperatures of at least 500.degree. F., comprising printing onto said substrate, by ink jet printing, an ink composition comprising a dispersion of synthetic pigment particles that have a particle size from about 0.02 to about 0.20 microns, with at least about 90 percent of said particles having diameters less than about 0.1 micron, and subsequently subjecting said substrate to said temperature.

Pigmented, low volatile organic compound, ink jet composition and method

A non-pigmented ink suitable for use in ink jet printing is disclosed. The ink comprises a resin component, hollow microspheres, and a suitable carrier vehicle. The hollow microspheres contain a central void region filled with a liquid capable of diffusing through the walls of said microspheres and have an inside diameter from about 0.1 to about 0.5 micron and an outside diameter from about 0.4 to about 1 micron.

A latent image-multiple copy process wherein use is made of a stencil in which stencil openings are formed to correspond to the latent image and base sheets in combination therewith, containing an invisible, soluble, color forming component, whereby when the color forming component is depleted from the base sheet in the area underlying the stencil openings, the base sheet can be replaced for the production of additional copies without the need to provide for a new stencil.
