The invention relates to a binocular telescope having cardanically journalled inverting systems mounted on a symmetrical double holder. This double holder is connected via a spring joint to a stationary non-movable base frame which is mounted at the pivot point of both inverting systems. An active movement damping device provides for a field image stabilization in the telescope. The monolithic spring joint provides a spring action perpendicular to the optical axis with the springs being thickened in the axial direction toward the edge to improve supporting capability. Shock protection is provided in the region of the support pivot point and contains a releasable latching device. The active damping device consists of a magnet system movable relative to a current coil fixed to the housing. This current coil exhibits a nonlinear effect in order to axially adjust the damping constant. A magnet field sensor is located in the current coil and controls the current flow through the coils via a circuit so that a specific, time-limited change of the damping constant is possible.

Telescope having image field stabilization

The invention relates to a binocular telescope having cardanically journalled inverting systems mounted on a symmetrical double holder. This double holder is connected via a spring joint to a stationary non-movable base frame which is mounted at the pivot point of both inverting systems. A passive movement damping device provides for a field image stabilization in the telescope. The monolithic spring joint has a spring arrangement perpendicular to the optical axis with the springs being thickened in the axial direction toward the edge to improve supporting capability. Shock protection is provided in the region of the support pivot point and contains an unlatchable device. The passive damping device is configured as an eddy current device and includes a magnetic system about a stationary eddy current coil which has a nonlinear effect for the purpose of adjusting axially the damping constants. Isolated coils are disposed on the eddy current plate and can be short-circuited by means of a switch so that a specific, time-limited change of the damping constant is possible.

Telescope having image field stabilization by cardanically journalled

Cover caps to protect the lens and eyepiece of a sighting telescope are resiliently connected by a pair of elastic bands. Each cap is provided with a pair of respective axially-oriented channels, each channel being larger at the end in proximity to the front of its respective cap, and the smaller end of each channel is proportioned to permit one end of one of the elastic bands to be threaded therethrough. Each end portion of each band is first threaded through a respective one of the channels, and then each end portion is folded over and secured to itself to form a thickened endpiece. Thereafter, each endpiece is retracted into its respective channel.

Eyepiece and lens cap for a sighting telescope

In a telescopic gun sight, a widened range of displacement for the inverting system is obtained by the arrangement of the inverting system between the objective and the objective image plane, and the arrangement of the reticle in the eyepiece image plane. An improved tiltable mounting of the auxiliary tube containing the inverting system is provided by forming the tiltable joint for the auxiliary tube as flexible or elastic monolithic joint.

Telescopic gun sight

The attachment arrangement of the invention includes a V-shaped rail of a sighting telescope housing which is placed in a V-shaped rail guide from above. The rail is pulled into the rail guide. The tension force is preferably provided by a threaded fastener in order to provide a releasable connection. Care must be taken to ensure that a clear space remains beneath the rail so that the rail can align itself undisturbed in the rail guide.
