A circuit breaker includes: a tripped indicator for indicating a tripping of the circuit breaker, the tripped indicator having a first pivot element mounted on a first pivot pin; and a switch lock with a pawl pivotally mounted on a pawl pin. The first pivot element is actuated by the pawl to indicate a tripped condition of the circuit breaker. The first pivot pin is arranged substantially normal to the pawl pin.

A switchgear, in particular a circuit protection device, includes: a housing; a fixed contact that is fixed to the housing; a movable contact, the movable contact being arranged on a contact arm that is arranged in the switchgear so as to be movable; a latching device that is connected to the contact arm; a manual actuation device that has an actuation projection, which manual actuation device is connected to the latching device by a bar, the movable contact being brought into contact with the fixed contact when the actuation projection is moved from an off-position of the actuation projection to an on-position of the actuation projection. When the actuation projection is moved from the on-position towards the off-position as far as a specified trip position of the actuation projection, the bar remains still. When the projection is moved past the trip position, the bar is moved past a holding point.

Circuit breaker

A circuit breaker includes a short-circuit trip and an overcurrent trip. The short-circuit trip has a trip coil, and the overcurrent trip has a bimetallic element. A first terminal of the trip coil is conductively connected to a fixed contact carrier of the circuit breaker. The bimetallic element is connected in series with the trip coil. The bimetallic element is connected at least indirectly to a first connection terminal of the circuit breaker, and the first connection terminal is connected to the fixed contact carrier by a bypass line.

A switching device has an input terminal and an output terminal for connection to electrical conductors, and two switching contacts which, when closed, close a current path between the input terminal and the output terminal. A disconnect device is operatively connected to at least one of the input terminal and the output terminal for disconnecting the two switching contacts. An arc quenching chamber composed of a plurality of metal plates is arranged in the region of the switching. At least two of the metal plates abut one another at least over a region to attain high reliability and operational safety even after repeated disconnects.

Switching device

A switching device, for example a circuit breaker, has an input terminal and an output terminal for connection to electrical conductors, and two switching contacts which, when closed, close a current path between the input terminal and the output terminal. A disconnect device is provided for disconnecting the two switching contacts. For triggering the disconnect device, an overcurrent trigger device and/or a short-circuit trigger device are in mechanical operative connection with the disconnect device by way of a reversing lever. The reversing lever includes a first lever arm with a trigger extension that can be actuated by the overcurrent trigger device and/or by the short-circuit trigger device, and a second lever arm with an actuating extension for triggering the disconnect device. To ensure safe operation, the actuating extension is configured to be resiliently compliant.

A switching device has an input terminal and an output terminal for connection to electrical conductors, and two switching contacts which, when closed, close a current path between the input terminal and the output terminal. A disconnect device for disconnecting the two switching contacts is operatively connected to a short-circuit trigger device which is arranged in the region of the input terminal and triggers the disconnect device. The short-circuit trigger device includes a U-shaped yoke and a movable hinged armature, which simplifies the design.

A switching device has an input terminal and an output terminal for connection to electrical conductors, and two switching contacts which, when closed, close a current path between the input terminal and the output terminal. An overcurrent trigger device which includes a bimetallic element heated by an electric current flow is provided for disconnecting the two switching contacts. A thermal insulator is arranged in the attachment region of the bimetallic element for reducing heat transfer from the bimetallic element as well as for increasing the accuracy and the degree of reproducibility for triggering the switching device. The switching device can be implemented as a circuit breaker.

In a switching device (S) for electrical installations with a housing () having terminals (), it is proposed for increasing the safety margin against spark-over between electrically conducting outside sections of two adjacent, identically constructed switching elements to provide at least one shielding element () that is formed as one-piece on the housing in a region of the terminals (), or at least one recess (), indentation () and the like, for lengthening the leakage current path on at least one housing part and/or on at least one section formed on the housing (). In addition, in a switching device (S) for an electrical installations having a housing (), with at least one terminal (), means are provided for completely unscrewing the clamping screw () from the clamping opening () for easy insertion of ring cable lugs.
