A portable table top welder for welding plastic material webs, the portable table top welder including a frame including a carrier housing and a support arm at which a welding device is arranged; at least one transport roller including a rotatable transport roller axle and at least one contact pressure roller that is rotatably supported at the carrier housing, wherein a weight is arranged at an eccentrical element which is rotatably connected at one side by a concentrically supported eccentrical element axle at the carrier housing and rotatably connected at another side by an eccentrically supported contact pressure roller axle at the contact pressure roller. The table top welder handles and transports easily and can be mounted on a table or on another carrier structure in a disengageable manner.

An automatic bonding apparatus and a method for thermally induced seam bonding of weldable and/or gluable flat flexible material layers with each other which are each configured as a material web, material band and/or material piece and arranged so that they overlap at least partially wherein the bonding is performed by an electrically controlled contact heating arrangement through a heating wedge welding method. A temperature and/or a power of the heating wedge which is formed by a thin folded steel sheet blank is controlled as a function of a relative velocity between the material layers and the automatic bonding apparatus. This is performed so that a thermal energy that is transferred from the heating wedge to the material layers to be glued is kept constant. For this purpose the relative velocity is detected and the power of the heating wedge is automatically adjusted when the relative velocity changes.

Apparatus for bonding overlapping material layers

An automatic welding machine for lap welding the edges of plastic webs, comprising a movable supporting frame, a heating device for partially melting the plastic webs, at least two opposing, counter-rotating pressing rollers and/or advancing rollers, at least one of which being driven, and at least one driving device comprising a drive motor and at least one gearbox for driving the pressing and/or advancing rollers, wherein the pressing rollers and/or advancing rollers are driven by the driving device by way of at least one flexible shaft. Furthermore, the gearbox can be implemented as a worm gear mechanism comprising a worm that is seated directly on a motor shaft of the drive motor and two counter-rotating worm gears driven by the worm.

Automatic welding machine

An automatic welding machine, comprising a supporting frame and a tensioning device for reversibly joining at least two opposing booms to one another and applying a tension force between these, having an open position in which the opposing booms are separated from one another by a gap and a closed position in which the opposing booms are joined to one another and braced with respect to one another. One boom is mounted in a torsion-proof manner on the tensioning device and is pivotable in relation to the other boom and can be moved out of the open position into the closed position by the pivoting of the tensioning device. The tension force is generated by way of a spring-loaded element disposed on the tensioning device, wherein the spring-loaded element, at one end, is rigidly connected to a supporting element of the tensioning device and, at the other end, is pivotably mounted on the supporting frame by way of a double swivel joint, and the spring-loaded element is tensioned by the pivoting of the double swivel joint out of the open position into the closed position, whereby a torque is applied onto the pivotable boom.

The invention concerns a laser device for joining work pieces made of plastic by means of beam welding technology, with a processing head that has focusing devices for the laser beam. Here, the focusing device that is closest to the work pieces has a rotatably supported cylinder lens in the shape of a roller that focuses the laser beam along a single axis and presses the work pieces together in the form of a line in an area around the impact point of the laser beam. In order to enable the cylinder lens to always contact the surface of the work piece facing the processing head in a precisely tangential manner, the processing head has a pendulum-type suspension for the rotatable cylinder lens. This also makes it possible for the contact pressure exerted by the processing head to always act perpendicularly on the work pieces so that they are pressed together in all welding places in the same way in a defined manner during the welding process.

A hot air welding nozzle for a hot air welding device for welding overlapping webs of sealing material. The hot air welding nozzle includes a connection for a hot air supply, a top and a bottom heat plate forming an air space, and at least one rear outlet between the top and bottom heat plate on a facing side that is oriented in a direction opposite to the moving direction of the hot air welding device, with at least one front outlet relative to the moving direction of the hot air welding device, and with air guides that extend beyond the facing sides of the heat plates, at least on the inner side.

A welding machine for joining overlapping webs of sealing material, with a powered chassis supported by rolls, with a heating system for local heating of the webs of sealing material that is mounted laterally to the chassis () and can be placed between the webs of sealing material in edge regions, with at least a first pressure roll installed on the chassis for pressing together the webs of sealing material to be joined by means of heat, where a second pressure roll serving as a replacement pressure roll is placed in the chassis, whose weight rests on the drive shaft and which can be exchanged without tools for the first pressure roll that is coupled to the drive shaft of the welding machine and presses together the bitumen webs to be joined. In addition, the pressure roll () may have at least one contact surface made of hard metallic material; and a stripper element is provided whose free end contacts the contact surface or is in close proximity to the same. Therefore, even with materials to be welded that will contaminate the pressure roll, the welding machine is capable of operating for long periods.

A method for joining workpieces by welding with laser light, in which a plurality of workpieces are arranged between a lower pressure plate and a translucent upper pressure plate on a multiplicity of supporting segments movable in a vertical direction, whereby the workpieces are subsequently exposed through the upper pressure plate to a laser beam. The workpieces on the supporting are pressed together and towards the upper plate with a prescribed contact pressure, the spacing of the supporting segments from the upper pressure plate being set variably and independently from each other. A device for joining workpieces by welding with laser light, comprises at least one upper pressure plate of transparent material and a lower pressure plate with multiplicity supporting segments for the workpieces. The supporting segments are arranged side by side on the lower plate and are movable in a vertical direction by compressed air and can be set independently from each other.

Method and apparatus for processing articles with a laser beam

A method for joining workpieces made from plastic, the upper workpiece, facing a laser source, consisting of a material transparent to the laser beam, and the lower workpiece consisting of a material absorbent to the laser beam, such that the mutually bordering contact surfaces for the two workpieces melt and are joined to one another under pressure during a subsequent cooling, the guiding of the laser beam onto the site to be joined, and the mechanical compression of the workpieces being carried out simultaneously by a machining head. The corresponding device comprises a machining head with focussing devices for the laser beam onto the contact surface, and pressure-exerting devices for compressing the workpieces. A rotatably mounted glass ball or roller is particularly suitable as pressure-exerting device. The invention permits welding quality to be assured in conjunction with flexibility of the welding operation without expensive and complicated damping balls.

Method and device for joining workpieces made from plastic in three-dimensional form by means of a laser beam

Process and apparatus for joining endless polymer materials by means of the transillumination technique. According to the invention, in order to be joined, the endless materials are guided through two contrarotating rollers that press against each other. The first roller consists of a material that is transparent to laser beams and is tubular. The second roller is formed from a material that can be deformed easily at the surface, so that its surface can adapt to the shape of the first roller. Devices for producing a laser beam at the contact surface between the materials to be joined are arranged in the first roller. In this case, the beam is formed as a linear laser beam longitudinally with respect to the direction of movement of the materials so that during the passage, continuous heating of the material up to the melting point is achieved, without an excessively high laser output having to be provided. By means of the process and the apparatus, continuous joining is possible at high speed.

Process and apparatus for joining polymer materials at a high welding speed

An automatic welding machine for waterproof sheeting with a pressing device for pressing lap-welded materials, where the pressing device has at least one press roll which is mounted on a shaft that is secured and is provided with an elastic sheathing on the circumference as a press surface on the contact surface of the material. The press roll is mounted by a pendulum bearing on the shaft which is centered with respect to the outside edges of the press surface and permits an additional limited pendulum movement of the press roll with respect to the shaft. The press roll remains parallel to the running gear of the automatic welding machine, but it can execute a pendulum movement on the basis of irregularities in the substrate, so that the pressure remains essentially constant even if the automatic welding machine is arranged at an inclination. In addition, the proposed press roll can also be driven by providing a rotationally fixed entraining unit between a drive shaft and the press roll. The press roll can be assembled and disassembled easily. The arrangement of the press roll can also be implemented with a manual press roll.
