Massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) uplink enhancement in split radio access network (RAN) deployments

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining a self-interference channel response of a transceiver of a mobile base station having a transmitter and a receiver. The self-interference channel response spans multiple sub-bands of a predetermined mobile cellular frequency channel. A first sub-band of the multiple sub-bands is identified according to the self-interference channel response and, an estimate is determined, at the receiver, of a first coupled transmit power level of the transmitter when operating within the first sub-band. A receiver sensitivity is adjusted according to the first coupled transmit power level to obtain an adjustment adapted to increase receiver sensitivity, while restricting operation of the receiver to a substantially linear region. The adjustment allows a transmission within the first sub-band and a reception within a second sub-band of the plurality of sub-bands to occur simultaneously at the mobile base station. Sub-band selection at cellular base station for non-overlapped or partially overlapped full duplex operation

Technologies directed to correcting terrestrial interference using narrowband adaptive filtering and beamforming technology are described. One method includes receiving a first and second radio frequency (RF) signal. The method includes generating first digital samples corresponding to the first RF signal using a first sample rate and generating second digital samples corresponding to the first RF signal using a second sample rate that is lower than the first sample rate. The method further includes generating third digital samples corresponding to the second RF signal using the second sample rate. The method further includes determining parameters associated with a filtering process using the second digital samples and the third digital samples. The method further includes generating fourth digital samples using the parameters of the filtering process. The method further includes removing a first portion from the first RF signal using the first digital samples and the fourth digital samples.

Architecture and algorithm for low complexity terrestrial interference cancellation

Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for a power control system in a multi-hop integrated access and backhaul network. In the multi-hop integrated access and backhaul network, a donor node can communicate with user equipment devices and relay nodes that have varying power levels; and to avoid receiving uplink transmissions with varying power levels which can impact automatic gain control systems and lower overall throughput, the power control system can manage the power levels of the relay node in order to reduce the difference in power levels. The power control system can schedule relay node devices to transmit uplink transmissions alongside user equipment devices that have a high signal strength; schedule relay nodes and user equipment devices to separate symbols within a time slot; and/or perform closed loop power control management at the relay node to reduce the power level for an uplink transmission.

Power control enhancements for multi-hop integrated access and backhaul

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, performing dynamic beam selection and coordination to support space division multiplexing (SDM) and Full Duplex operation for integrated access and backhaul (IAB) in 5G new radio (NR) networks. Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining compressed sounding reference signal (SRS) information associated with a user end device from a distributed unit device. The distributed unit device compresses SRS information utilizing a first compression algorithm resulting in the compressed SRS information. Further embodiments include decompressing the compressed SRS information utilizing a first decompression algorithm resulting in the SRS information and determining SRS channel estimation based on the SRS information. Additional embodiments include determining a group of beamforming weights based on the SRS channel estimation, and adjusting an antenna array according to the group of beamforming weights. Methods, systems, and devices to compress reference signals to enhance massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) uplink in split radio access network (RAN) deployments

Technologies directed to correction of terrestrial interference using spatial signal minimum beamforming are described. One method includes a first communication device with beamforming circuitry receiving an indication of a first direction. The method further includes determining that orienting a main lobe of a first antenna gain pattern along the first direction results in an RF interference condition. The method further includes determining a second antenna gain pattern. The second antenna gain pattern comprises a second main lobe oriented along the second direction. The method further includes determining a third antenna gain pattern of the beamforming circuitry using (i) the first antenna gain pattern and (ii) the second antenna gain pattern. The method further includes receiving a first RF signal with the beamforming circuitry configured with the third antenna gain pattern.

Terrestrial interference correction using spatial beamforming technology

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving, by a first radio module at a first location, a wireless signal, to obtain a first received RF signal. The wireless signal includes information originating at a remote transmitter and conveyed via a wireless channel. An envelope of the first received RF signal is detected by the first radio module without requiring a local oscillator, to obtain a first baseband signal. The first baseband signal may be filtered and/or amplified, after which it is provided to a processor. The processor also obtains a second digital signal from a second radio module receiving the wireless signal at a second location and determines an estimate of the information originating at the remote transmitter according to the first and second signals. Ultra-low-power millimeter-wave to baseband receiver module for scalable massive MIMO

Discontinuous access to unlicensed spectrum is facilitated in a new radio access environment. According to an embodiment, a system can comprise performing a scanning procedure that determines whether a first subband and a second subband is available for transmission. The system can further facilitate determining whether the first subband and the second subband are adjacent, wherein a first channel formed at the first subband comprising a first guard band and a second channel formed at the second subband comprising a second guard band that is adjacent to the first guard band. The system can further facilitate in response to determining that the first subband and the second subband are adjacent and available for transmission, eliminating the first guard band and the second guard band.

Discontinuous access to unlicensed spectrum in a new radio environment

Compression techniques can reduce the fronthaul throughput in split radio access network (RAN) architectures for next generation designs. Adaptive fixed-point mapping can reduce the throughput requirements between a baseband unit (DU) and a remote radio unit (RU). Thus, a bit or plurality of bits can indicate the type of data being passed over the fronthaul. Consequently, adaptive mapping between precoded downlink data and non-precoded downlink data suited to the type of data passed over the fronthaul can achieve high compression ratios.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a base station that includes a phased array antenna system and a MIMO antenna system. The MIMO antenna system may receive sounding signals sent by user equipment (UE) and determine angular location information for each UE. The angular location information may be used by the phased array antenna system to create antenna beams. A channel code type is identified and responsive to it being systematic, the information bits and the transmitted error-check value are obtained without decoding according to the channel code. The received channel-encoded data block is checked according to the transmitted error-check value to obtain a result. Responsive to the result not indicating an error, extracting the information bits without decoding the received channel-encoded data block according to the channel code. System and method for decoding encoded messages in a wireless communication system

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, a non-linear energy detector that obtains baseband information from a mixed signal that corresponds to an information component of a received radio frequency (RF) signal, wherein the mixed signal comprises a local oscillator signal combined, without multiplication, with the received RF signal, wherein the received RF signal comprises a carrier wave component operating at a carrier frequency within a millimeter wave spectrum, wherein the non-linear energy detector is associated with a non-linear current-voltage (I-V) characteristic curve, and wherein the baseband information is obtained by applying the mixed signal to the non-linear I-V characteristic curve.
