A method, apparatus and system for transferring data from an apparatus called multi-protocol gateway in a network seamlessly that operates using a particular protocol, to another device that is either in the same network or outside operating in a totally different protocol is described. Today, to accomplish this requires external units, one per technology. For example, for supporting both WiFi and WiMAX devices today, we would require a WiFi access point, a WiMAX base station and a router. We provide plug-ins that would handle multiple protocols within the same gateway, to cater to devices that operate in those protocols. The apparatus translates between various protocols in the back end making it inexpensive and portable. The unit is scalable, grows with technology, and acts as a gateway to a local network. The device can be configured to address Quality of Service, Priority between technologies and fault-tolerance through management layer.

Method, apparatus and system for enabling communication using multi-protocol gateway and virtual resource manager

The present invention is related to a method for routing image data from Camera Node to a Sink Node, where it May be processed in detail, in a Visual sensor network. In accordance with the present invention, wireless Intermediate Node are configured to route images based on first pass image encoding containing coarse image to the next wireless hop at a higher priority over the images based on the second pass encoding containing additional details of the images. The routing method for wireless Ad Hoc mobile and sensor network, periodically exchanges node status information to optimize the routing table, so that high priority image packets may reach the Sink Node in shortest possible path. The method ensures selection of high quality image packets for routing under the condition of collision and congestion to achieve optimal image quality receipt at the Sink Node.

System, apparatus and method for robust transmission of visual data through visual sensor network

A vehicle localization system and method uses a hybrid communication layer. The system and method detect a vehicle location and transmit the vehicle location to an application layer using a plurality of communication methods. In addition, the method and system can determine a preferable communication method. The preferable communication method can be dependent on past vehicle locations.
