In a process for the detection of the limit level of liquids and bulk materials in containers and pipelines, the change in the oscillation behavior of a sensor which is excited to oscillation is detected electronically and used to trigger a switch command. As sensor there is used a parallel bimorph piezoelectric element (22) having a common central electrode (44) and two outer electrodes (46, 48). A first alternating voltage (U1) with an oscillator frequency (f1) is applied between the central electrode (44) and a first outer electrode (46), a second alternating voltage is measured as amplitude of oscillation (U2) with corresponding oscillation frequency (f2) between the central electrode (44) and the second outer electrode (48), and the measured amplitude of oscillation (U2) or oscillation frequency (f2) is converted into an output switch signal. In a device suitable for the carrying out of the process, the piezoelectric element (22) is inserted in liquid-tight manner into a plastic cover (24), the plastic cover (24) in its turn being fastened in liquid-tight manner to a plastic housing which passes through the wall (16) of a container or a pipeline, and the plastic cover (24) together with the piezoelectric element (22) extends into a protective tube (18) developed on the plastic housing (12).

Process and apparatus for detecting the limit level of liquids and bulk

A magnetic induction flowmeter to measure the rate of flow of a fluid features a plastic flow element (10) with a tubular section (12) adjoining a flow channel (18). Electrodes (22) penetrate the tubular section (12) and are positioned at a distance from each other in the flow channel (18). The electrodes (22) are made of an electroconductive material composed of a base material and an electroconductive supplemental substance finely distributed within said base material. The base material is identical to or is related to the plastic of the flow element (10) and the electrodes (22) are joined with the tubular section (12) of the flow element (10) to form a homogeneous material compound.

Electromagnetic flowmeter construction

A device for measuring the flow rate of a fluid with ultrasonic has a measuring tube (12) with ultrasound transducers (26), arranged in the area of its ends, as well as connecting pieces (16) for the inflow and discharge of the fluid which are arranged coaxially with respect to one another. The measuring tube (12) is arranged coaxially with respect to the connecting pieces (16) and the ultrasonic transducers (26) are positioned between the measuring tube and the connecting pieces. With this arrangement, the effective length (1) of the ultrasonic measuring section may be increased when the laid length (L) is predetermined.

Process for measuring the flow rate of a fluid

A two-way valve 10 for pipelines comprises a valve housing 12 with connection pieces 14 and a valve body 16 that is arranged in the valve housing an actuated via an adjusting lever 42. The valve body has a flow-through bore that forms a tubular flow-through channel for a fluid with the connection pieces 14 in the open position of the valve. The valve body 16 comprises a cylindrical sealing surface that forms a fluid-tight, close fit with a cylindrical inner wall of the valve housing 12.

Two-way valve for pipelines

A valve which allows for two-directional flow comprises a housing defining an axial flow channel; a flow control body disposed within the axial flow channel, the flow control body having a recess for receiving flow impact surfaces which allow for two directional flow; a closure member disposed within the axial flow channel; and drive means for displacing the closure member in an axial direction for selectively sealing and unsealing the drive means on the flow control body.

Flow control valve

A Karman eddy flow meter includes a bending sensor mounted in an arm projecting into the flow channel of a conduit for measuring the velocity of a medium flowing through the conduit. The sensor is encapsulated within the arm and is elongated in the direction of the medium flow within the flow channel of the conduit.

Device for measuring the velocity of a fluid flowing in a flow channel

A diaphragm valve is described which comprises a lower housing portion and a upper housing portion which are clamped together by a fastening device. An elastomeric diaphragm is located between the lower housing portion and the upper housing portion. A compression spring is arranged between either the lower housing portion or the upper housing portion and an element of the fastening device.
