Techniques for developing a hydrocarbon well employing hydraulic fracturing, including determining a geometric signature of a bi-wing hydraulic fracture of the well, including a fracture height (h), half-length (X) and width (w) of the fracture, determining fracture model parameters for the fracture, including a stimulated cell width (D), length (D), and width (n), determining a fracture conductivity diluting factor (FCDF) for the bi-wing hydraulic fracture based on the geometric signature and the fracture model parameters, applying the FCDF to a fracture permeability (K) to determine a model permeability (K) for the fracture, and determining a reservoir model of the reservoir that includes the model permeability (K) associated with the cells of the reservoir model that represent a region of the hydrocarbon reservoir that corresponds to the location of the hydraulic fracture.

Hydraulic fracture conductivity modeling

A production stream is received from a well formed in a subterranean formation. The production stream includes a gaseous portion and a liquid portion. The liquid portion has a base sediment and water (BS&W) percentage. At least a portion of the gaseous portion of the production stream is combusted to produce a flaring byproduct stream. The flaring byproduct stream is flowed through a coiled tubing to the well. The BS&W percentage of the liquid portion of the production stream is measured. The flow of the flaring byproduct stream to the well is decreased in response to the BS&W percentage reaching a threshold BS&W percentage.

Provided are embodiments for hydrocarbon reservoir development that include the following: identifying proposed well locations within a reservoir boundary, for each location, developing a well plan by: (a) identifying layers of the reservoir located below the proposed location; (b) iteratively assessing the layers (from deepest to shallowest) to identify a deepest 'suitable' layer that is not dry, congested, or unsuitable for gas production; and (c) performing the following for the identified layer and the location: (i) determining a borehole configuration for the location; (ii) determining a completion type for the location; and (iii) determining a stimulation treatment for the location, where a well plan for the location (e.g., for use in developing the reservoir) is generated that specifies some or all of a well location, the target layer, a borehole configuration, a completion type, and a stimulation treatment that corresponds to those determined for the proposed well location.

A method may include obtaining gas well data regarding various gas wells. The method may further include determining various well potential values for the gas wells based on the gas well data and a predetermined production period. The method may further include determining, based on the well potential values, a reservoir pressure criterion, and a water risk criterion, an available supply rate for a respective gas well among the gas wells. The method may further apply wells congestion cycling coupled to producing reservoirs to allow for uniform depletion across gas wells. The method may further include determining a production scenario based on the available supply rate and a supply target. The method may further include transmitting a command that implements a gas supply adjustment at a gas plant based on the production scenario.

Method and system for managing gas supplies

Systems and methods for selecting and performing gas deliverability tests are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of performing a gas deliverability test includes drilling a well, operating the well to produce gas, determining a sustainability of the well, and determining at least one of a shut-in bottom hole pressure and pressure build-up of the well and a geochemical analysis of the well. The method further includes selecting a deliverability test based at least in part on a duration of an operation of the well, a sustainability of the well, and at least one of the shut-in bottom hole pressure, the pressure build-up and the geochemical analysis of liquids of the well. The method also includes applying the deliverability test to the well.

Systems and methods for selecting and performing gas deliverability tests

The analysis module, using a Bayesian Decision Network model, may perform a first assessment of data availability, saturation, fracture, and seismic data associated with a candidate area for drilling a first well, and may output a first probability that indicates a potential production level of the first well. The analysis module may perform a second assessment of offset, stress, thickness, and porosity data associated with a second, nearby well, and may output a second probability that indicates a potential production level of the first well if a lateral is placed in a layer and at a azimuth direction. The analysis module may perform a third assessment of tortuosity, washout, and porosity data, and a net-to-gross value associated with the first well and may output a third probability that indicates a completion type for the first well.
