A switch system wherein the housing consists of a spatially injection-molded conductor support (MID technique). The switch system is designed such that it can be largely adapted to the requirements of automotive technology. To that end, the top of the housing has a surface which can be equipped as desired with electrical and/or mechanical components and its underside has pin-like projections which are connected to strip conductor and act as plugs.

In an electric switch a good gliding behavior between a bridging contact and metal conductors punched out from a sheet metal blank is achieved. For this purpose the metal conductors have at least one projection extending at least over the entire range of motion of the bridging contact.

An electric switch for operating a windshield wiper and washer system of a motor vehicle has a switch housing, in which a switching member for operating the wiper system in a selected operation mode is swivelably mounted from a neutral position around a first axis in at least one optional position and a switch lever which, for operating the washer system from a neutral position into an operational position, is swivelably mounted on the switching member around a second axis preferably perpendicularly intersecting the first axis. By a single actuation, it is possible by switching on the washer system to also switch on the wiper system. Therefore in a first position, preferably in the neutral position of the switching member, the switch lever, when being swivelled around the second axis into an operation position, is swivelable together with the switching member compulsorily around the first axis at least to such an extent that, after release of the switch lever, the switch lever reaches, together with the switching member, a second position of the switching member.

An electric switch for operating a windshield wiper and washer system of a motor vehicle. In a switch housing a switching member is swivellably mounted around a first axis between several switching positions. A switch lever which is swivellably mounted on the switching member around a second axis which preferably perpendicularly intersects the first axis. An electric contact is movable by swiveling the switch lever around the second axis. To manufacture the electric switch at low cost and to promote a long lifetime for the two stationary contacts acted upon by the electric contact, the electric contact is held on the switch lever and acts upon the two stationary contacts at different points in at least two different switching positions of the switching member when swiveling the switch lever relative to the switching member.

A switch, especially for motor vehicles, includes a housing which is insertable into an opening of a mounting plate. The housing is limited by a front plate, several side walls and a base plate. Locking springs project from two side walls. Each locking spring carries a stud. When the switch is mounted the studs snap into position behind the mounting plate. Release shanks projecting into the housing interior originate from the locking spring, which release shanks end in the area of apertures in the front plate. Thus the mounting plate need not have openings through which the locking springs are accessible for removal of the switch. Thus the switch can be surrounded by the mounting plate over the entire perimeter of its front plate.

A plastics fastening element is used, which has three portions with differing diameters and which are inserted with press-fit in the fastening hole of the switch, on opposite sides of the switch, in receiving bores of webs aligned parallel to one other.
