A repair system for repairing a surface of a workpiece includes a first tool configured to rotate in a first direction. The first tool contacts the surface of the workpiece during the rotation of the first tool in order to repair the surface of the workpiece. The repair system further includes a second tool configured to rotate in a second direction opposite to the first direction. The second tool contacts the surface of the workpiece during the rotation of the second tool in order to repair the surface of the workpiece. The repair system further includes a drive mechanism coupled to each of the first tool and the second tool.

A method for the removal of debris () from an aperture (), the aperture comprising a first aperture diameter () and extending along a first axis () over a first distance (), the method comprising the steps of aligning a beam of energy () with the first axis such that the beam of energy is coaxially aligned with the aperture, the beam of energy comprising both an energy sufficient to remove the debris, and a first beam diameter () which is less than the first aperture diameter; and, exposing the debris to the beam of energy in order to remove the debris from the aperture.

Debris removal

An electro-discharge machining (EDM) device that includes a housing, an erosion electrode, a ground electrode, and a dielectric inlet. The housing is configured to be positioned on a surface of a workpiece and proximal to a fastener to be eroded. The planar erosion electrode is positioned at least partially within the housing, with the erosion electrode being movable relative to the housing in a first axis. The first axis is substantially normal to a longitudinal axis of the fastener. The ground electrode is conductively connected to the fastener. The dielectric inlet is configured to deliver a dielectric fluid to a region between the erosion electrode and the fastener.
