A surface mounted grounding connector and method for installing same to the bared shield of a jacketed, shielded cable from which a portion of the jacket has been removed, without severing the shield and reestablishing the moisture protection of the shield. The connector is made up of a contact means placed atop the bared shield and engageable therewith to prevent relative movement of said contact means with respect to said shield. A copper braid is first engaged with said contact means and then wrapped about both said contact means and bared shield to establish a good electrical joint and held in place with a suitable clip. A preformed liquid-tight sealing form has a grounding conductor inserted through a suitable aperture therein and the bared conductor crimped in the crimpable connector attached to the contact means. The form is then moved into position such that its stem fits tightly about the ground conductor and crimpable connector and skirt overlies the contact means and bared shield. Finally an insulating tape or mastic is wrapped about the joint to complete a moisture-proof seal of the grounding conductor and shield.

In-line connector

A selector switch of the type having a thumbwheel selector journalled for rotation in a frame for selecting any one of a plurality of interconnections among external circuits to be connected to electrical contacts mounted in the frame, the selector including a first part of dielectric material and a second part with a metallic electrically conductive material carried by the first part and having a pattern configured in accordance with a predetermined code, portions of the metallic electrically conductive material and the first part lying in a common contact surface so as to be contacted by various ones of the electrical contacts in different positions of the selector to connect and disconnect the contacts in accordance with the pattern of conductive material, thereby selectively closing and opening the interconnections among the external circuits.

Disclosed herein is a fluid pressure indicator for providing visual indication whether or not the magnitude of a fluid pressure condition is above a predetermined minimum value. The indicator comprises indicating means having an indicating portion and a diaphragm. The indicating means is movable between a first extreme position in which the indicating portion is not visible and a second extreme position in which the indicating portion is visible. The diaphragm has a fixed portion and a resiliently deformable portion which is affixed to the indicating means and movable responsive to changes in the magnitude of the fluid pressure condition. The indicating means is thus movable with the resiliently deformable portion, such that whenever the magnitude of the condition is not in excess of the minimum value, the resiliently deformable diaphragm portion holds the indicating means in its said first position, but a predetermined increase in the magnitude of the condition above the minimum value will deform the deformable diaphragm resiliently, thus to move the indicating means to its said second position.

Disclosed herein is a fluid pressure indicator for providing visual indication of the magnitude of a fluid pressure condition. The indicator comprises an optical element including a front surface for receiving ambient light and a rear, light-reflecting portion having three mutually perpendicular surfaces which define a cube corner having an apex remote from the front surface, and a one-piece, resilient, imperforate diaphragm in cooperative relationship with the rear, light-reflecting portion of the optical element, to provide a chamber between the interior of the diaphragm and the three perpendicular surfaces. The diaphragm is normally not in optical engagement with the three perpendicular surfaces, but is resiliently deformed into such optical engagement upon the application of a positive fluid pressure differential to the exterior of the diaphragm.

A timing device includes a timing means which effects movement of a motion transmitting member at a selected rate to provide a timed interval of selected duration, upon expiration of which interval a snap-action mechanism, coupled to the motion transmitting member, rapidly moves a shuttle in a fluid valve from one position to another to open or close a fluid circuit.

A printed circuit panel connector comprises an encased heat sink for maintaining all electrical connections to the connector at substantially the same temperature. The heat sink is disposed between a plurality of tubular electrical connector elements adapted to receive corresponding external conductors, and a like plurality of electrical contact elements for making electrical connections between each one of the tubular electrical connector elements and a corresponding terminal adjacent the edge of a printed circuit board. Portions of the contact elements are in spring loaded contact with the heat sink such that the heat sink positively retains the contact elements within the terminal block body and maintains the various tubular electrical connector elements and electrical contact elements at substantially the same temperature.

A circuit breaker has a bistable snap-acting mechanism including a bimetallic arm which renders the circuit breaker capable of actuation by either ambient temperature changes or temperature changes generated internally, as by an excessive electric current. An electromagnetic arrangement enables essentially instantaneous actuation in response to an electric current of predetermined amplitude greater than the excessive current which otherwise might actuate the circuit breaker thermally. An actuating lever assembly includes an actuating lever coupled to a link which is normally latched and is unlatched in response to movement of the bimetallic arm, and enables manual actuation, as well as manual reset of the circuit breaker.
