Methods and apparatuses are described for intelligent smoothing of 3D alternative reality applications for secondary 2D viewing. A computing device receives a first data set corresponding to a first position of an alternative reality viewing device. The computing device generates a 3D virtual environment for display on the alternative reality viewing device using the first data set, and a 2D rendering of the virtual environment for display on a display device using the first data set. The computing device receives a second data set corresponding to a second position of the alternative reality viewing device after movement of the alternative reality viewing device. The computing device determines whether a difference between the first data set and the second data set is above a threshold. The computing device updates the 2D rendering of the virtual environment on the display device using the second data set, when the difference is above the threshold value.

Intelligent smoothing of 3D alternative reality applications for secondary 2D viewing

A computer-implemented method is provided for visualizing multiple objects in a computerized visual environment. The method includes displaying to a user a virtual three-dimensional space via a viewing device worn by the user, and determining a data limit of the viewing device for object rendering. The method includes presenting an initial rendering of the objects within the virtual space, where the visualization data used for the initial rendering does not exceed the data limit of the viewing device. The method also includes tracking user attention relative to the objects as the user navigates through the virtual space and determining, based on the tracking of user attention, one or more select objects from the multiple objects to which the user is paying attention. The one or more select objects are located within a viewing range of the user.

Systems and methods for data visualization in virtual reality environments

Described herein are methods and systems for secure communication of private audio data in a zero user interface computing environment. A server receives text generated from a first digital audio bitstream, the digital audio bitstream corresponding to speech captured by a zero user interface computing device from a user. The server analyzes the text to extract a set of keywords from the text. The server determines whether information responsive to the keywords comprises private data related to the user. If the information responsive to the set of keywords comprises private data: the server generates a text response to the set of keywords that includes the private data relating to the user, determines a personal audio playback device associated with the user, and transmits the generated text response to the personal audio playback device for playback as a second digital audio bitstream.

Protection of data in a zero user interface environment

Methods and apparatuses are described for providing a thumb scroll user interface element in a computerized visual environment. A viewing device displays a graphical user interface within a three-dimensional space that includes surface planes each associated with a graphical thumb scroll element. A sensor device captures a location of the user's hand within the three-dimensional space and a gesture of the user's hand. A computing device detects that the location is within a defined zone around one of the graphical thumb scroll elements and activates the thumb scroll element associated with the defined zone. The computing device identifies the gesture, determines a scroll speed based upon a speed of the identified gesture, and determines a scroll direction based upon a direction of the identified gesture. The computing device changes characteristics of graphical content in the surface plane based upon at least one of: the scroll speed or the scroll direction.
