Access control system with dynamic performance tuning

A method of secure access through a wireless connection is provided. The method includes detecting availability of an access control wirelessly by a mobile device. A predicted intent is determined of a user of the mobile device to have the access control open a lock. The method determines whether a relay attack is detected. Based on detection of the relay attack, a prompt to confirm an intent of the user of the mobile device to have the access control open a lock is determined. Based on non-detection of the relay attack, a lock actuator is activated through the access control to open the lock responsive to a credential based on affirmatively confirming the intent or the predicted intent.

Secure seamless access control

A method of controlling access through a Bluetooth connection is provided. The method comprising: detecting Bluetooth advertisements of one or more access controllers using a mobile device application; determining whether to connect to the Bluetooth advertisements using the mobile device application; connecting the mobile device application to each of the one or more access controllers using separate Bluetooth connections; enumerating services of each access controller using the mobile device application; authenticating the mobile device application by transferring a credential; detecting intent of the mobile device application to engage a specific access controller; and activating a lock actuator within the specific access controller.

A locking device for providing access to a structure includes a locking mechanism configured to selectively switch between a locked state and an unlocked state. A wireless interface is operatively connected to the locking mechanism to control change between the locked and unlocked states. The wireless interface is configured to periodically beacon a data packet providing information to listening devices in a local area without requiring a bi-directional connection and to support bi-directional connections as needed to transfer data to the locking device.
