An augmented reality-based acoustic analysis method includes identifying structural elements of a space and determining structural parameters of the structural elements and a structural parameter of the space. The method further includes displaying, by an augmented reality (AR) device, a virtual lighting fixture model on a viewport of the AR device, where the virtual lighting fixture model is overlaid on a real-time image of the space. The method also includes determining, by the AR device, a sound reverberation time of the space based on at least a sound absorption parameter associated with the virtual lighting fixture model and a sound absorption parameter of the space determined based on the structural parameters of the structural elements and the structural parameter of the space.

Augmented reality-based acoustic performance analysis

An end cap for a light fixture is described herein. The end cap can include a body having at least one wall and at least one coupling feature, where the at least one wall has an inner surface and an outer surface, and where the at least one coupling feature is configured to couple the body to another component of the light fixture. The end cap can also include a first knockout disposed in the at least one wall, where the first knockout is configured to be removed to generate a first aperture in the at least one wall, where the first aperture is configured to receive a first electrical enclosure. The end cap can further include a second knockout disposed in the at least one wall, where the second knockout is configured to be removed to generate a second aperture in the at least one wall.

A circular edge-lit lighting device includes a light emitting panel (LEP) and a first light emitting diode (LED) light source positioned proximal to a first location on a narrow outer perimeter edge of the LEP. The first LED light source is configured to emit a first light into the LEP through the narrow outer perimeter edge. The first light has a first intensity level. The circular edge-lit lighting device also includes a second LED light source positioned proximal to a second location on the narrow outer perimeter edge the LEP. The second LED light source is configured to emit a second light into the LEP through the narrow outer perimeter edge. The second light has a second intensity level. The first location and the second location are different locations.

Edge-lit lighting device

An edge-lit lighting fixture includes a light emitting panel (LEP) and a light emitting diode (LED) light source that is positioned proximal to a perimeter edge of the LEP and configured to emit a light into the LEP through the perimeter edge. At least a portion of the light is emitted through the broad surface of the LEP as an illumination light to illuminate an area. The edge-lit lighting fixture further includes a sensor positioned at a broad surface of the LEP to detect ambient light in the area. The LED light source is powered on based on the light sensor. The edge-lit lighting fixture also includes a sensor shield positioned around a portion of the sensor to block the illumination light from directly reaching the sensor.

A linear luminaire includes a housing and a light emitting diode (LED) light source attached to the housing. The luminaire further includes an over-optic piece covering the LED light source, and a lens spaced from the over-optic piece and covering the over-optic piece from view. A distribution of a light provided by the luminaire through the lens depends on the over-optic piece.

A shield for a lighting fixture includes a panel that is optically transparent and a screen attached to the panel. The screen has opaque segments, where the opaque segments have gaps therebetween. The screen is screen printed onto the panel. The opaque segments are distributed on the panel in a pattern.

A system of light emitting diodes and lightguides can produce and distribute light in a luminaire. Two or more lightguides can be mounted adjacent one another so that their edges extend alongside one another. An optic can couple light between the light emitting diodes and the edges of the adjacent lightguides. The optic, which can be another lightguide in some examples, can mix, blend, or homogenize light received from the light emitting diodes and distribute the light among the adjacent lightguides. The optic can mix light emitted from multiple light emitting diodes so that light enters the adjacent lightguides uniformly along the edges of the lightguide, thereby eliminating or reducing any bright spots or visual inconsistencies. The optic can further allocate light uniformly among the adjacent lightguides.

A lighting system can comprise an edgelit panel, for example a lightguide that may have a panel or slab shape with an edge that receives light from an array of light emitting diodes extending along the edge. The lightguide can guide the received light towards an opposing edge of the lightguide and gradually release light to provide illumination. An optic can manage light that reaches the opposing edge of the lightguide, for example via softening, spreading, concentrating, or diffusing the light. The optic can be mounted to or integrated in the opposing edge of the lightguide.
