A headrest assembly for a vehicle includes a head support having a front side, a back side, a left side, and a right side. A left support arm is coupled to the left side and aright support aim is coupled to the right side. A left speaker module is coupled to the left support arm and a right speaker module is coupled to the right support arm, the left and right speaker modules each including a housing having a front face with at least one speaker mounted therein for generating audio output. The left and right support arms are arranged to position the left and right speaker modules in a retracted position with respect to the head support to provide a surround sound mode, a first extended position to provide an individual sound zone (ISZ) mode, and a second extended position to provide a binaural mode.

Vehicle headrest assembly with configurable speaker modules and control for multiple audio modes

An auto-orienting loudspeaker assembly for a vehicle seat includes a housing arranged to be received within a rear side of the vehicle seat, an enclosure rotatably mounted to the housing, the enclosure having a nonuniform weight distribution, and a loudspeaker disposed within the enclosure and having an initial orientation. A change in an angular position of the vehicle seat results in a passive rotation of the enclosure with respect to the housing to substantially maintain the initial orientation of the loudspeaker as the angular position of the vehicle seat changes.

Passive auto-orienting loudspeaker assembly

A pump assembly for a vehicle seatback includes a plurality of air bladders defining a lumbar support and a pneumatic cylinder that has a sealed head slidably disposed within a cylindrical cavity coupled defining an outlet. A selection device operably engages the outlet with a select one of the plurality of air bladders for inflating the select one of the plurality of air bladders.

Manual lumbar pump assembly

A pump assembly for a vehicle seatback includes a plurality of air bladders defining a lumbar support. A valve body has an inlet and a plurality of outlets that are coupled with the associated plurality of air bladders. A selection device is operably coupled with the valve body for engaging a select one of the plurality of air bladders with the inlet. A manually compressible air chamber is coupled with the inlet for inflating the select one.

A vehicle seating assembly includes a seat back and a seat base. A shell is disposed in the seat base and includes a left leg support and a right leg support. A membrane is disposed over the shell and includes a plurality of perforations. The membrane and the shell define a cavity. An air channel is defined in a bottom wall of the shell. The air channel extends at least partially into the left leg support and the right leg support. A spacer material is disposed in the cavity. A fan is in communication with the air channel and is configured to move air through the channel, the spacer material, and the plurality of perforations.

A vehicle seating assembly includes a composite support structure formed by a lower pressure compression mold and defines at least one open section. A subassembly is disposed over the composite support structure and includes a trim piece integrally formed on the subassembly and defines a center seat and at least one cushion attachment support is disposed adjacent to the at least one open section. A seat cushion insert is operably coupled to the at least one cushion attachment support and is disposed over the at least one open section and defines a side seat.

A vehicle seating assembly includes a seating surface. A plurality of polymeric mats each include a memory metal encased therein, a first side operably coupled with an underlying support structure, and a second side proximate the seating surface. An electrical source is operably coupled to the memory metal in each polymeric mat and is configured to supply energy to the plurality of memory metals in each polymeric mat. A controller is in communication with the plurality of polymeric mats and is configured to deliver a predetermined electrical input to the memory metal of each polymeric mat. The predetermined electrical input manipulates each polymeric mat to a deformed state, which operates a cushion between a multitude of comfort positions. An air bladder is disposed below the plurality of polymeric mats. The air bladder is operable between an inflated condition and a deflated condition.

Vehicle seating assembly with multi-contour system

A vehicle seating assembly includes a plurality of horizontal members, a plurality of vertical members, and a plurality of corner members, which define a seat frame. The plurality of corner members are configured to snap-fit into the plurality of horizontal and vertical members. A seatback is disposed behind the seat frame. A low-pressure compression mold is disposed over the seat frame and defines at least one open section. A subassembly is disposed over the compression mold, defining a center seat and including at least one cushion attachment support disposed adjacent to the at least one open section. A seat cushion insert is operably coupled to the at least one cushion attachment support and is disposed over the at least one open section and defining a side seat.

Composite modular rear seat structure frame

A vehicle seating assembly includes a seatback and a seat base pivotally coupled with the seatback. An upper link is pivotally coupled between an upper portion of the seatback and a rear support. A front link and a rear link are pivotally coupled between the seat base and a floor. A bottom end of the front link is moveable on the floor between a forward position and a rearward position, adjusting the seatback respectively between a reclined position and an upright position.

Pivoting and reclining vehicle seating assembly

A motor vehicle luggage retention system for a motor vehicle is disclosed. A foldable seat back separates the occupant compartment from the trunk and has an upright position and a folded position that allows pass-through accessibility from the trunk into the occupant compartment. A pivotable bar assembly in the trunk has a lowered position and a raised position. Pivoting the pivotable bar assembly to the lowered position moves the foldable seat back to the upright position and creates a structural safety barrier against objects in the trunk impacting a rear surface of the seat back. Pivoting the pivotable bar assembly to the raised position moves the seat back to the folded position to provide uninterrupted access to the occupant compartment from the trunk. A latch assembly latches the pivotable bar assembly in at least the lowered position. A movable parcel shelf and collapsible storage bin are also disclosed.
