Apparatus for cleaning a surface with a liquid jet, the apparatus having: a primary fluid conduit having a longitudinal axis and two ends, a fluid-intake end and a fluid-exit end; a first motor-driven drive assembly configured to engage the primary fluid conduit and turn the primary fluid conduit about the primary-fluid-conduit longitudinal axis; a first motor configured to engage the first motor-driven drive assembly; a section of the primary fluid conduit being inside of an adjacent penetration sleeve; a section of the penetration sleeve being inside of a piston sleeve; the piston sleeve configured to engage the penetration sleeve and move the penetration sleeve back and forth along a penetration-sleeve linear path over a primary-fluid-conduit exterior surface; an actuator configured to engage the piston sleeve and move piston sleeve back and forth along a piston-sleeve linear path; a penetration-sleeve end being attached to an extension sleeve that has a first end and a second end; the extension-sleeve second end being attached to a swivel rod that has a first end and a second end; the primary-fluid-conduit fluid-exit end being attached to a fixed nozzle having a first end and a second end; the fixed-nozzle second end being attached to a swivel nozzle; the swivel-rod second end being attached to the swivel nozzle; the swivel nozzle configured to pivot between a fully extended position and a fully retracted position as the swivel rod respectively extends and retracts as the penetration sleeve moves back and forth; and a continuous fluid-flow channel that extends from the primary-fluid-conduit fluid-intake end through the swivel nozzle.

Apparatus for cleaning a surface with a liquid jet, the apparatus having: a primary fluid conduit having a longitudinal axis and two ends, a fluid-intake end and a fluid-exit end; a first motor-driven drive assembly configured to engage the primary fluid conduit and turn the primary fluid conduit about the primary-fluid-conduit longitudinal axis; a first motor configured to engage the first motor-driven drive assembly; a section of the primary fluid conduit being inside of an adjacent penetration sleeve; a section of the penetration sleeve being inside of a piston sleeve; the piston sleeve configured to engage the penetration sleeve and move the penetration sleeve back and forth along a penetration-sleeve linear path over a primary-fluid-conduit exterior surface; an actuator configured to engage the piston sleeve and move piston sleeve back and forth along a piston-sleeve linear path; a penetration-sleeve end being attached to an extension sleeve that has a first end and a second end; the extension-sleeve second end being attached to a pull rod or a pull cable; the pull rod or the pull cable being attached to a nozzle anchor and configured to pull on, push against, or release tension from the nozzle anchor as the penetration sleeve moves back and forth along the penetration-sleeve linear path; the primary-fluid-conduit fluid-exit end being attached to a flexible conduit; the flexible conduit being attached to a nozzle tip having the nozzle anchor thereon; and a continuous fluid-flow channel that extends from the primary-fluid-conduit fluid-intake end through the flexible conduit.

A substance deposition and backflow preventing arrangement including a housing having a port therein, a sleeve disposed within the housing and positionable to cover or uncover the port, the sleeve having a first seal at one end thereof presenting a first hydraulic dimension and a second seal at another end of the sleeve having a different hydraulic dimension, a biasing member operably connected to the sleeve and to the housing and configured to urge the sleeve to a position covering the port.

A frac and gravel packing system including a tubular having a longitudinal axis, a wall defining an interior flowbore, a radial frac port and a radial production port extending through the wall in a first zone of an annular region surrounding the tubular; a screen surrounding the production port, the frac port not covered by the screen; a sleeve system including a sleeve longitudinally shiftable with respect to the longitudinal axis of the tubular, the sleeve configured to cover the frac port in a first position of the sleeve and uncover the frac port in a second position of the sleeve; and, a return path arranged to permit return fluid from a fracturing operation to exit the first zone of the annular region, wherein the return fluid passes through the screen prior to accessing the return path.

Frac and gravel packing system having return path and method

A fracturing tool features spaced releasable packers with an outlet in between. The housing has relatively moving components for opening the frac port between the packers with weight set on the lower packer. Once the frac port is opened the upper packer is set and the pumping begins. The upper packer can be released so that tension can be pulled on the lower packer to close the frac port and open a through passage in the housing. In one embodiment the through passage can be located above the lower packer to a sand jet perforator to clean debris away from the lower packer if it is difficult to release the lower packer or to abrasively perforate through a tubular. The housing outlet can be below bottom packer to perform a treatment further downhole or to operate another tool. The straddle tool can be run in on coiled tubing.

Straddle frac tool with pump through feature apparatus and method

A system, tool and method of providing the tool downhole is disclosed. The tool is conveyed downhole on a tool string. The tool includes a first member and a second member locked in a first configuration by a locking member. The locking member is dissolvable upon introduction of a dissolving agent to the locking member. Dissolving the locking member allows motion between the second member and the first member.
