Disclosed embodiments include apparatuses, systems, and methods for suturing a wound, incision, or other opening. In an illustrative embodiment, an apparatus includes a helically-shaped needle having a helical radius, the needle having a shaft and drawing a filament from a trailing end. Two generally-parallel rollers are configured to engage therebetween the shaft, the first roller having a roller radius that is less than the helical radius of the needle to enable the needle to revolve around the first roller to pierce a body adjacent the first roller and to draw the filament therethrough. A frame is configured to counter-rotatably support the rollers. The frame includes couplings configured to detachably receive distal ends of a support shaft and drive member extending from a drive mechanism, the drive member being configured to provide the rotational force to at least one of the rollers.

Movable suturing apparatus and method

Disclosed embodiments include apparatuses, systems, and methods for suturing a wound, incision, or other opening. In an illustrative embodiment, an apparatus includes a roller mechanism configured to counter-rotatably support two generally-parallel rollers configured to engage therebetween a shaft of a helically-shaped needle, the needle having a point at a leading end, drawing a filament from a trailing end, and having a first helical radius, the needle being revolvable around a first roller having a roller radius that is less than a helical radius of the needle to enable the needle to pierce a body and draw a filament through a body disposed adjacent the first roller. A motor drive is operably coupled with roller mechanism to convey rotational force to rotate the two generally-parallel rollers. A controller is operably coupled with the motor drive and configured to cause the needle to complete at least one revolution to form a single suture in the body.

Disclosed embodiments include apparatuses for and methods of separating tissue with opposing jaw members having distal ends that translate toward a surface of the tissue as the jaw members are rotated outwardly to maintain engagement with the tissue. In an illustrative embodiment, an apparatus includes jaw members rotatably coupled adjacent to their proximal ends. The jaw members define opposing outwardly-facing curved channels disposed between their proximal and distal ends that slidably engage a distal pin. A bracket defines a distal socket that receives the distal pin. As the jaw members are motivated in a distal direction relative to the bracket toward the distal pin, engagement of the distal pin with the outwardly-facing curved channels causes the jaw members to rotate to cause the distal ends of the jaw members move outwardly transversely to the distal direction while the distal ends translate in the distal direction.

In an illustrative embodiment, an apparatus includes a frame configured to counter-rotatably support two generally parallel rollers. A first roller supported by the frame has a flat surface configured to rollably engage a first face of a shaft of a helically-shaped needle. A second roller supported by the frame has a grooved surface defining a groove that is configured to at least partially receive a second face of the shaft. The bottom of the groove has a bottom width at least as wide as the second face and bounded by sides extending to a groove opening at the grooved surface having a surface width that is wider than the second face.

Suturing apparatus and method

Disclosed embodiments include apparatuses, systems, and methods for facilitating surgical anastomosis between bodily passages. In an illustrative embodiment, an eversion mechanism is configured to partially evert a distal portion of an opening of a receiving passage and further configured to leave a proximal portion of the opening of the receiving passage in a non-everted position. A donor support mechanism is configured to partially evert a distal portion of an opening at an end of a donor passage and further configured to leave a first proximal portion of the end of the donor passage in a non-everted position. The donor support mechanism is further configured to form a passage juncture at the end of the donor passage and the opening of the receiving passage. A suturing mechanism is configured to motivate a filament through a generally helical path around the passage juncture to suture the donor passage to the receiving passage.

Disclosed embodiments include apparatuses, systems, and methods for guiding a needle to facilitate suturing, such as in surgical anastomosis. In an illustrative embodiment, an apparatus includes at least one guide member configured to extend from a suturing mechanism that is configured to revolve a helically-shaped needle around an axis while the needle is advanced around an object to be sutured. A guide track is configured to be positioned around the object and to guide the suturing mechanism in an articulated path around the object. The guide track defines at least one guide channel configured to receive the guide member, where the at least one guide channel is configured to direct movement of the guide member to cause the suturing mechanism to pivot to realign the axis to be tangential to the curved guide track.

Disclosed embodiments include apparatuses, systems, and methods for guiding a needle to facilitate suturing, such as in surgical anastomosis. In an illustrative embodiment, an apparatus includes a frame configured to counter-rotatably support two generally parallel rollers. A first roller supported by the frame has a flat surface configured to rollably engage a first face of a shaft of a helically-shaped needle. A second roller supported by the frame has a grooved surface defining a helical groove is configured to at least partially receive a second face of the shaft. The second roller further defines a correcting recess bounded by lateral surfaces at a forward end of the groove that tapers to a width of the groove at the forward end. When the leading end is received into the correcting recess, at least one of the lateral surfaces engages and guides the leading end into the forward end of the groove.

A tissue clipping device and system, and method for clipping tissue are disclosed. The tissue clipping device includes a clip with clip arms that is slidably disposed within a channel of a lock tube. The clip is designed to move between an open configuration in which distal ends of the clip arms are separated from each other for receiving tissue therebetween, and a closed configuration in which the distal ends of the clip arms are closer to each other than in the open configuration for clipping the tissue received therebetween. The tissue clipping system further includes a delivery device for delivering and deploying the tissue clipping device. The delivery device is releasably coupled to the tissue clipping device.

In an illustrative embodiment, an eversion mechanism is configured to engage a first external surface of a receiving passage adjacent a first opening in the receiving passage in order to create a receiving flange presenting a first interior face. A donor support mechanism is configured to support a donor passage with an opening in an end in an everted position that forms a donor flange presenting a second interior face. The donor support mechanism is further configured to present the second interior face of the donor flange against the first interior face of the receiving flange to present a passage juncture. A suturing mechanism is configured to motivate a filament through a helical path around the passage juncture to suture the second interior face of the donor passage to the first interior face of the receiving passage.

Machine learning is used to generate and update predictive models configured to predict the positions, orientations, or actions of various gameplay elements capable of being controlled by players of a network-based multiplayer game. A gaming server can send a trained predictive model to each player device actively involved in a gaming session. Multi-dimensional models are supported for game creation via two-dimensional (2D) visual scripting systems. Visual scripting can utilize 2D nodes on a grid, where the nodes can interact through the use of input and output ports, and can be wired together to create gameplay behavior.
