A modular controller may be mounted in an opening, such as a standard single wide or double wide electrical junction box, in a wall or other surface. The modular controller may include a power module and a front module. The power module may be mounted in the opening of the surface, and may be configured to provide electrical power to the front module. The front module may be detachably coupleable to the power module. The front module may be configured to receive audio commands, gesture commands, and/or presence input corresponding to a desired action, and may cause the action to be performed by a device of the front module and/or an external device. The front module may include various devices (e.g., components) capable of providing various functionalities, and may be selected for coupling to a power module in a particular location based at least in part on the functionalities.

Voice activated modular controller

Described herein are unibody thermal enclosures for electronic devices. In some instances, the enclosure is a unibody structure formed by injecting a structural material into the tool suspending thermal absorbing/spreading material and thermal insulating material within a cavity of the tool. In other instances, the thermal absorbing/spreading material may be exposed to circuitry of the electronic device and the thermal insulating material may be exposed to the exterior of the electronic device.

Unibody thermal enclosure

The structural rigidity of a device is improved by overmolding one or more layers of the device housing over the antenna components, improving overall wall thickness and avoiding air gaps present in conventional devices. Pull tabs are implemented for battery installation and removal using a stretch-release adhesive connected to the tabs that can hold the battery in place and, upon pulling of the pull tabs, cause the battery to be removable from the device. Camera sensors larger than the camera optics are usable in a device by utilizing only image data captured by those pixels of the sensor that correspond to the appropriate part of the camera optics. Mechanical interlocks can be used advantageously for alignment and connection strength for side soldering. Optical alignment processes are used advantageously in situations such as mounting a device camera relative to an opening of a light absorbing layer on a cover glass sheet.

Computing device components and assembly

Headphones can be configured such that back surfaces of the speaker housings can be coupled to form a loop enabling users to wear the headphones around their necks when the speakers are not in use. In various embodiments, faces of the respective speaker housings may comprise asymmetrical, complementary surfaces. In such embodiments, the users can distinguish between the speakers intended to correspond with respective right and left stereo channels by tactile feel. In some embodiments, the interlocking of the housing structures can be achieved by magnetic force to maintain the coupling when the speakers are not in use but can be decoupled by the user without undue effort. In some embodiments, the speaker housings are configured to constrain the housings to a specific orientation when mated.
