A connection of users to a multi-user virtual space is detected. A multi-user virtual sub-space within the multi-user virtual space is formed. A group of users from among the users are assigned to the multi-user virtual sub-space. Media exchanges are focused for the group of users within the multi-user virtual sub-space by limiting a perception level of media exchanges between users not assigned to the multi-user virtual sub-space relative to users assigned to the multi-user virtual sub-space.

One example method includes joining, from a client device, a virtual meeting hosted by a virtual meeting provider, the virtual meeting comprising a plurality of participants, displaying the virtual meeting on the display of the client device, receiving a head tracking signal from an head tracking sensor, the head tracking signal associated with a first user of the client device, determining, based at least in part on the head tracking signal, a location and a position of the of user's head in relation to the display on which the first user is focused, and varying the volume of a first audio stream of a plurality of audio streams associated with the virtual meeting based at least in part on the position of the user's head.

One example method includes joining, from a client device, a virtual meeting hosted by a virtual meeting provider, the virtual meeting comprising a plurality of participants, displaying the virtual meeting on the display of the client device, receiving an eye tracking signal from an eye tracking sensor, the eye tracking signal associated with a first user of the client device, and determining, based at least in part on the eye tracking signal, a location of the display on which the first user is focused. The method further includes identifying a first audio stream of a plurality of audio streams associated with the virtual meeting based at least in part on the location, and responsive to identifying the first audio stream, increasing a volume of the first audio stream relative to the rest of the plurality of audio streams.

Example methods and systems provide push-to-talk (PTT) functionality integrated with other functions. The PTT functionality can include a graphical interface provided by a client application. The graphical interface can display PTT groups and/or icons for individual users. Users can generate PTT group definitions in response to input to the client application. A group control input can cause PTT transmission from a client device to a group of client devices corresponding to the PTT group. PTT groups can optionally be shared through the client application or via a URL that invokes a private Web page, and recording and transcription of PTT communication can optionally be provided.

Systems and methods for providing spotlight cards within a chat channel are provided. In an aspect, a method includes establishing, by a video conference provider, a first chat channel for exchanging chat messages between a plurality of client devices and receiving, by the video conference provider, an indication to generate a first spotlight card within the first chat channel, wherein the indication identifies spotlight content from a first resource external to the first chat channel. The method also includes generating, by the video conference provider, the first spotlight card identifying the spotlight content and transmitting, by the video conference provider to one or more of the client devices connected to the first chat channel, the first spotlight card for display within a spotlight panel within the first chat channel, the spotlight panel positioned proximate to a chat messaging panel including chat messages posted to the chat channel.
