According to one aspect, the shoe sole () comprises at least one main ground engagement section () specifically designed to respond to certain modes of solicitation by the foot of the player. Such section is provided with a sculpted pattern having recesses () and solid areas (). The recesses and solid areas are distributed to minimize pressures or stress differences throughout the ground engagement section concerned so as to provide better adherence and lower wear by abrasion in response to such mode of solicitations. Preferably this arrangement is applied to more than one main ground engagement section () in the shoe sole, each of which offers a specific response to a particular mode of solicitation by a player in action. According to a preferred embodiment the recesses are made of elongated cells opening () in a corresponding solid area through an elongated aperture () with rounded ends (). The application of these principles to the production of a tennis shoe is described.

High-performance sports shoe

A ball-striking sole for a table tennis paddle comprises a flexible coating () of elastic material, one face () of which is lined with elastically deformable pimples () which protrude from said face. The cross section of said pimples is greater in their region () of attachment to this coating than in the region close to their opposite end () and the side wall () of these pimples has a concave curved profile over at least a part of the height of the pimple between these two regions. This sole is used particularly successfully in a table tennis paddle in which the face of said sole () lined with pimples () is directed towards the inner side of the blade () of the paddle such that the free ends () of the pimples, the lateral surface of which has a concave curved profile (), are pressed against a layer () of elastic material, secured to the blade, the modulus of elasticity of which is much lower than that of the elastic coating () of the sole. The smooth face (-) of the sole on the opposite side from the pimples () forms the striking surface of the paddle.

This adhesion chain for the wheel of a motor vehicle comprises an adhesion tread intended to be in contact with at least the tread of the wheel concerned, and kept in place by means of respectively external and internal tensioning cables. The adhesion tread consists of a net prepared from textile material, said net being prepared by knitting of cords themselves prepared by knitting, so as to define the meshes of said net, and in that the cords include a reinforcing core from a high-modulus material.

A wheel formed by the assembly of a disc comprising a hub bearing surface, a transition zone and a radially outer edge, and of a rim with at least a first laminated composite structure formed of at least one fabric of long fibers which are oriented in two distinct directions and impregnated by a cross-linked resin, the radially outer surface of which corresponds to the radially outer surface of the rim or to part thereof, at least a second laminated composite structure formed of at least one fabric of long fibers which are oriented in two distinct directions and impregnated by a cross-linked resin, the radially outer surface of which corresponds to the radially inner surface of the rim or to part thereof, and at least a circumferential weight-reduction structure formed of a material of low density, arranged radially between the first and second laminated composite structures.

A radial tire having two carcass half-reinforcements anchored on each side f the tire in a bead, the base of which is intended to be mounted on a bead seat of a wheel rim, each bead having at least one bead wire, the carcass half-reinforcements being joined together by connecting means. Each carcass half-reinforcement consists of a carcass filament which is wrapped around the bead wire to form adjacent strands running from said bead wire at least as far as said connecting means. The strands are arranged in a number of groups of two adjacent strands connected by a loop at the connecting means, the two adjacent strands of each group passing axially on the same side of the bead wire, and alternately axially on one side then on the other side of the bead wire, when passing from one group to the next group.
