Embodiments of the present invention may provide a circuit. The circuit may include a primary side, a secondary side, and an isolated energy transfer device electrically isolating the primary side and the secondary side. The primary side may include a first energy storage device coupled to a power source, a control system coupled to the first energy storage device for power, a second energy storage device, and a coupling system, coupled to the control system, to selectively couple the second energy storage device to the power source in a first phase and to selectively couple the second energy storage device to the primary side of the isolated energy transfer device during a second phase.

Isolated digital transmission with improved EMI immunity

In an isolation system, different analog to digital converters ('ADCs') are provided on a first side of an isolation barrier. Outputs from the ADCs may be merged into a common data stream and communicated across the isolation barrier by a single isolation device. The ADCs may sample independent signals or may sample a common signal. When the ADCs sample a common signal, the system may monitor the input signal for fault conditions. During no fault operation, results of an analog-to-digital conversion may be communicated across an isolation barrier by an isolation device. During a fault condition, data representing the fault condition may replace the ADC data in communication across the isolation barrier. Fault conditions may be signaled by unique data patterns that can be distinguished from ADC data.

Isolator system supporting multiple ADCs via a single isolator channel

Techniques to perform bandgap circuit trimming that maximize the operating range and minimize the trimming time at which the bandgap will be accurate. A bandgap circuit output voltage may be trimmed by heating the circuit, supplying increasing input power to the bandgap circuit, and adjusting operational parameters of the bandgap circuit to generate a constant bandgap circuit output voltage. When the bandgap circuit output voltage may remain constant, a constant input power may be applied to the bandgap circuit and its output voltage may be adjusted to a predetermined voltage level.

System and method for power trimming a bandgap circuit

Embodiments of the present disclosure may provide a relaxation oscillator with improved performance against phase noise error. The phase noise error may be reduced from sources whose power is greater at lower frequencies. To reduce the noise error, the relaxation oscillator may include chopping in the charging current driver; chopping in the trigger level generator; and/or chopping in the currents that feed the cells. A chopped amplifier may be provided to perform chopping of the input signals.

An apparatus for characterising an analog to digital converter, comprising a signal generator for supplying an input signal having a first sinusoidal component to an analog to digital converter and an acquisition device for receiving and storing a plurality of output values from the analog to digital converter, and a data processor arranged to examine the output values in order to determine discrepancies due to bit weight errors and to calculate estimates of the bit weights or bit weight errors.
